Ballymore/ Mayglass

GAA Lotto

The St Fintans GAA lotto now stands at €15,000 and tickets can be purchased from local shops and the club grounds on Tuesday evenings from 8pm and from club members at a cost of €1.50. There is also a match three prize of €300 up for grabs each week and Ciara Murphy and Joanne Murphy shared in this prize with the following numbers drawn 4,13,20,28. Fight Night

Tickets for the upcoming Fight Night St.Fintans V Kilmore in Bridgetown College Hall on Saturday March 12th are now available. Tickets at €15 can be purchased from Shane Sinders or Sharon Pettit. A local derby not to be missed, be sure to order your ticket before they are all gone.

Split The Pot

The 8th split the pot draw held in Greenacres Bar produced a winning ticket with a fantastic new top prize of €565 for Jimmy Corish. There is also have a new collection box out there thanks to the Killinick takeaway who have kindly taken one. Draw no 9 takes place in Bridies Bar.

All Blacks AFC

Fixtures slowly getting back to normal with improved weather. Our U10 girls had a 3-0 win in the league away to St. Josephs with 3 goals from Aoibheann Rankin. The u12 girls played a friendly away to Rosslare Rovers and had a narrow 6:5 loss with goals from Madison Roche (2), Zoe Butler(2) and Abby Lambert. The u13 boys played a practice away to Bridge rovers and drew 2-2 with goals from Kyle Cooke and Kyle Rankin. The u11 boys away game was cancelled by Wexford Albion.

Womens Shed

This week in the Shed we are finishing off a number of projects which are ongoing or members who missed out, want to learn. Next week it's flower arranging. New members welcome. Meetings are in Tomhaggard social centre on Mondays from 10am to 1pm, cost €5 including refreshments

St Fintans

Club membership is now payable with non playing membership set at €30. A membership registration night will be held in the Clubhouse, Ballymore on Tuesday 15th March at 8.30pm. Membership forms will be available on registration nights. Once registration is complete with Croke Park a unique member number will be issued along with membership card. Only members paid up by the 31st March deadline will have entitlement to a members vote at A.G.M or any other significant club meeting..

Scouts

Kilmore scouts are holding a fundraising Breakfast Morning in Kilmore hall on Sunday March 20th from 10am-1pm. Proceeds in aid of upcoming International Jamboree in Birmingham during the summer. 38 scouts and leaders are attending, the majority on their first overseas trip, where they will meet up with 2500 scouts from around the world.

Ballycogley Players

The 53rd annual Wexford Drama Festival continues nightly, at 8pm excluding Sunday in the Dun Mhuire Wexford. The Ballycogley Players will close the festival on Friday 11th with The Cripple of Inishmaan by Martin Mcdonagh.

As usual, all proceeds of raffle on last night go to a local charity. This year the beneficiary is Alzheimers Society so why not come along and support your local drama group and a worthwhile charity at the same time.

Tickets for the Dun Mhuire may be purchased from Wexford Arts centre at 053 91 23764 or at the door on the night.

Killinick I.C.A

The local Killinick ICA guild will hold a daffodil day collection at the Centra supermarket Killinick on Friday March 11th. Please support.

Club Football

The All County football league Div.2A fixture St Fintans versus Bannow/Ballymitty scheduled for last weekend was cancelled due to ground conditions. Two members of the club were involved with the Wexford senior football team when it took on and defeated Waterford in an Allianz football league Div 4 game played at Dungarvan on Saturday evening last. Joey Wadding and Donal Shanley contributed greatly in the 0-12 to 0-11 victory with Donal scoring 8pts of the total. Well done lads.

District Awards

Former Galway hurling manager and current RTE hurling analyst Cyril Farrell was a guest at the Wexford district GAA awards held in the Riverbank House Hotel on Saturday evening last.

This is an event at which a member of each club in the district is honored for his or her contribution to the club and the game over the years. Each club nominates a person to receive the award on its behalf and this year Billy Boggan was the St Fintans nominee.

Billy together with his family and a number of former team mates had a great time at the function where he received the award he so richly deserved. Congratulations Billy.

Mayglass Fun Run

Please reserve May 2nd for the Mayglass 4 mile fun run, this event is for all ages as you may run,walk or jog while having a chat with your friends. You may enter online or on the day and it starts at 11am.

Open Evening

Mulrankin Preschool/Montessori is holding an open evening on Tuesday March 15th from 7 to 8 pm. We are currently enrolling for Sept 2016 for children aged 2-5 and now parents can avail of two free pre-school years for children between the ages of 3-5pm. G.A.A. News

Split the Pot

This week's 'Split the Pot' draw was held in the Gift Shop on Sunday morning-the winner was Phyllis Devereux, Ballymacane, Tacumshane, winning €252. This project is a fundraiser for the Church Restoration fund-envelopes available in Londis and Post Office-put €2 in provided envelope write your name and phone number on envelope. Total takings divided: Parish receiving half, Winner receiving half. Thanks for your support.

Old School Cards

On Tuesday, 1st March with 24 playing, Jimmy Amber won with four games, and Vincent Myles came second with three games. Walter Kelly won the steaks. Cards every Tuesday night in the Old Hall €5 in, winner takes % pot, free raffle, tea coffee served, all welcome.

5km/10km Walk/Run

St. Anne's Coiste na nÓg 5km/10km Walk /Run will takes place on Sunday 13th March at 11.30am. The funds raised will go towards the running of the Club so your support would be greatly appreciated. This event is open to anyone over the age of 16. Entrants should arrive at 10.30am to allow time to register. Registration will take place in the Clubhouse. The Entry Fee is €10. Refreshments will be served in the Clubhouse afterwards.

TRX/Pilates Classes

TRX Classes take place in the Club House every Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm and Tuesday and Friday mornings at 9.30am. For further details please contact Kevin Cogley on 086-3656233.

Drama Thanks

Rathangan Variety Group would like to thank everyone for their support of their recent sell-out production of Calamity Jane from 17th to 20th February in Rathangan Hall. Tomhaggard Centre

The Committee are delighted to welcome Brian Furlong who has been appointed as TUS employee, under Wexford Local Development scheme, at the Centre, working part time. Already the place is starting to shine. The plan includes a major cleanup of the exterior, maintenance, and painting.

Table Quiz

Duncormick Area Action Group and Tidy Towns Committee will hold a table quiz in Sinnott's Pub on Wednesday 9th March at 9 pm. Tables €20. Refreshments served. Proceeds in aid of river walk development.
