Poker classic

There is a Poker Classic on the 18th March 18th at at 9.30pm in Galbally Community Centre; €20 buy in. Light refreshments served. All welcome. For more information please contact Dylan at 086-3719982.

Bree Athletic Club

Well done to the Bree AC athletes who represented the club at day 3 and 4 of the Leinster Indoor Championships. The club brought home a total of 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal this weekend. Those competing this weekend were Robbie Chapman, Ryan Whelan, Corbin Brown, Olivia Howe, Sean Rowley, Katie Whelan, Aoife Cloke-Rochford and Sophie McCabe.

Training continues at 7 on Mondays and Wednesdays at Ballyhogue GAA pitch and 7:45 on Thursdays in Bree Community Centre. Next up for the club is the All Ireland indoors.

Bree Active Retired

Daffodil Day

It's that time of year again and we would love your help for our big fundraising day on March 11th. GAA News

The Junior hurlers are out next Saturday 12th against Rathnure in Bree in the first hurling league game of the year. Check our FB page for time of throw in.

Camross Drama Group

Rehearsals for the 3 Act comedy, "It's the Real McCoy" continue, lines being learnt, stage being built and props collected! Our monthly WEXARA lunch will be held in Reid's Restaurant at the Ferrycarrig Hotel on Wednesday 16th March at 1.00pm.

Our AGM takes place on Wednesday 30th March in Clonard Community Centre. Proceedings begin early with Mass at 2.00pm in Clonard Church. New committee members will be elected as 4 of our Committee are stepping down.

FAB Childcare

FAB offers high quality affordable childcare for children ranging in ages from fifteen months to twelve years. There are a few vacancies in the Playgroup/Toddler room which caters for children in the two to three year bracket.

The developmental needs of the child will be looked after by highly trained and skilled staff who hold childcare qualifications in both Level 5 and 6.

Reduced rates are available according to peoples circumstances, ie,social welfare payments, GP, Medical Cards, F.I.S., etc. Anyone interested in registering their child please call in to Kay or phone 053 9142018 immediately as places are limited.

Clonard GAA News

Congratulations to Daniel Kavanagh and Rory Gilbert on their recent wins. Junior footballers played their first game last Sunday, 2nd March in the All County League, the boys played brilliantly. Our adult hurlers will play their first match on March 13th in Marshalstown.

The underage coaching continues for boys and girls in Saint Peter's for U6 and U8 from 6 to 7pm and U10 and U12 from 7 to 8pm. All are welcome, fee €2. Contact Mary on 087 9967925 for further details.

Ladies football

Clonard Ladies Gaelic Football Club is back in full training after the long winter break, U10, U12 & U14 training in The Presentation Sports Hall on Fridays from 6-7 €2 per child, U8's will commence training after the Easter Break. U16 girls will train on Fridays at North End Complex on Fridays 6-7, Minor and Adult training is on Wednesday evenings from 7-8 & Sunday mornings at 11am.

If you would like to join our Minor or Adult teams please come along to our training sessions for a chat with our coaches, for underage girls please come along to our FUN training sessions which focus on participation, which allows girls to get an introduction to Ladies Gaelic Football in a non competitive environment while also meeting new friends.

The Society of St Vincent de Paul will hold a furniture and bric-a-brac sale in Saint Michal's Hall, Thomas Street on Friday 11th March from 10am to 1pm. All proceeds go to the Society.

On Friday 18th March there will be a clothes collection supporting Friends Of Calcutta (CHY No 13218.), with collection until 6pm in Clonard Community Centre. Camogie Club news

The next registration night will be held on Friday 11th March from 6-7pm in Oylegate Community Centre (Note change in time). We ask that all current members, and anyone who would like to join the club, would come along on this night to register and to pay all or part of their membership for the coming year. Please note that you are not insured unless your membership is paid. Membership is as follows: Adults €85; U18s & non-working adults €55; U10s €35.

1916 Commemoration

A commemorative Event will take place in the Village implemented by the Glenbrien Village Renewal Group on 20th March. A Wood sculpture of Cuchullain will be inaugurated by Paul Kehoe. TD Refreshments will be served in the Old School Centre after the Ceremonials. Glenbrien Primary School Choir will give a recital for the occasion.


Youth Club

Youth Club Disco: There will be youth club in Oylegate community centre on this Friday evening March 11th from 8.00pm to 10.00pm.

The supervisors for the evening are Con Hourihan, Liz Kinsella, Margaret Storey, Paul Maher, Corina Kinsella, and Cormac Downes

Social Dancing

Sunday the 13th March is the next date for Social Dancing in Oylegate Community Centre . Music on the night is by Hogan and Kenny. This duet proved to be a big hit on their last appearance here nine months ago and our dancers are looking forward to their return.

Dancing as usual is at 9.30p.m. and admission is €8. Our usual tasty refreshments will be served. Come and enjoy a lovely night of music and dancing.

Hope and Dream 10k/10m

The hope and dream 10k/10m run will be held on Sunday April 10th commencing at 10.15am.

All proceeds from the event will go to County Wexford Hospice and the Hope Centre in Enniscorthy. If people could sign up as soon as possible for this event, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Again.

GAA Lotto

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot held in the Mernaghs Lounge, Oylegate on Wednesday February 17th. The lucky dip winners were Jay Shanahan, Catherine Murphy, Kate Maher, JP Moran, Sean Fox, John Conroy, Mick Morrissey and Sean Nolan. The next draw for €10,200 will be held in the Slaney Inn, Oylegate on Wednesday March 2nd. Tickets cost just €2 each and are available from club members.


Kids disco

An Easter Disco, organised and supervised by Scoil Mochua's Parents' Association will take place in Oulart Community Centre on Friday March 11th from 7-9pm. All proceeds go to the school.

Clothes Collection

A clothes collection, in aid of school funds, will take place at Scoil Mochua on Monday March 14th. All bags of clothing should to be dropped by 9.30am.

Proclamation Day

Scoil Mochua would like to invite everyone from the community to the school's Proclamation Day on March 15th at 11.50am. The National Flag will be raised and there will be class performances in the school yard, weather permitting. Refreshments will be available.

The Pull

Oulart The Ballagh Camogie Club will present a comedy 'The Pull', kindly sponsored by Corrigans Londis, Oulart, in The Riverside Park Hotel on Sunday 17th April. Tickets cost €15 or €40 family rate. A great night of hilarity and top-class entertainment is guaranteed.

Dinner Dance

Oulart-The Ballagh GAA & Camogie will hold their Dinner Dance and presentation of medals on Easter Sunday night. Please note that numbers will be limited so people should book their tickets early.

First Confession for Second Class will be held on Monday 14th March at 7.30pm in St. Patrick's Church. First Holy Communion will be celebrated on Saturday 14th May.


John O'Rourke, Enniscorthy who is a member of Wexford Co. Council will hold a clinic for Oulart and The Ballagh in Oulart Community Centre on 9th March, from 12.15 until 1pm.

Lifestyle Transformation

The 2016 Lifestyle Transformation, organised by Oulart-The Ballagh Camogie Club, is starting on Easter Monday, 28th March. It is an ideal way to get out and get fit now that Spring is in the air and the evenings are getting longer.

Walking/Cycling Event

Calling everyone in Oulart and The Ballagh-Help spread the word and set the heather blazing!

You are invited to join walkers on the Lar Redmond Route from Oulart to Enniscorthy as part of the "Backroads to the Rising2 project, which will converge on Enniscorthy on Easter Monday, 28th March. Alternatively you can join walkers at two points closer to town; at Ballymotey Beg Crossroads or Vinegar Hill. Cyclists will start the route on bike in Kilmuckridge.

The project is inspired by journeys which the men and women of Wexford undertook in 1916 and involves five walking and cycling routes that will converge in Enniscorthy as part of the 2016 Easter Rising Commemorations. For further information see and "like' the facebook page to stay informed.
