Over 200 will be descending on the village from June 24 to June 26. Site is down lane, Quigleys land at rear of old nursing home, Fr Denis has kindly allowed scout parking area at top of church carpark, which will be cordoned off. Féile Shield

Having beaten Bannow-Ballymitty on a scoreline of 1-04 to 1-01 in the semi-final of the ladies' football feile shield in Oylegate during the recent past the ladies were faced with Bunclody in the final. Bunclody put their name on the scoreboard first with St Fintan's battling hard to register a score but the Bunclody defence stood firm. Though never giving up the battle St Fintan's found Bunclody too strong and trailed on a scoreline of 3-03 to 0-03 when the final whistle sounded.

Ordination Anniversary

Fr Martin Byrne PP was joined by a large gathering of family, friends, priestly colleagues and parishioners at Danby Lodge, Killinick, on June 17 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood.

The evening began with Mass in Mayglass Church, which was attended by many clergy including Mons. Denis Lennon, who was the Bishop's representative. The homily was given by Fr Byrne's friend Fr Oliver Sweeney. The Mass was followed by a function in Danby Lodge at which presentations were made by various organisations in the Parish.

Fr Martin Byrne was ordained in Rathangan Church on June 17,1976, after which he was appointed to Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex where he ministered for seven years. On his return in 1983 he served in Rowe St Wexford till 1991. Following a year in Kilmyshall, he was appointed to Raheen, where he spent 14 years and was involved in the development of Community Facilities there - the hall, school and Family Resource Centre.

Eleven years ago, he was appointed Parish Priest of Ballymore-Mayglass, where he has been involved in the refurbishment of Ballymore and Mayglass churches and an extension to Mayglass School. He has made many friends in the different parishes he served in and all joined on the night in congratulating him and wishing him well in the future.

Congratulations to the entire Wexford panel and management but especially Ms Coakley as she continues to gather up those trophies.

The girls reportedly played some great football with wins over teams from Dublin, Kildare and Laois. Well done girls. Some amazing work being done on the Ladies side of the club right throughout the underage groups, well done to everyone involved at commitee and ground level.

A massive well done to Faythe Harriers under-14 hurlers on claiming the National All-Ireland Premier Féile title this morning in Cashel. Faythe Harriers 2-3, Glen Rovers 0-2. An amazing accomplishment for a team and club. The best under-14 hurling team in the country for 2016, enjoy the moment, the welcome home party, the well deserved celebrations. Congratulations to all from St Fintan's GAA. Club.

End Of Season

The Ballycogley players drama group brought the curtain down on a season in which it celebrated its 40th anniversary, finished fourth in the All-Ireland finals in confined drama together with winning numerous individual awards along the way with a very enjoyable barbecue at Bannow cottages, Bannow on Saturday night last. The delicious food was prepared by John, Clare and Rachel Murphy of the cottages and was thoroughly enjoyed by the 'players'.

The group had a few beers and told stories following the food with some staying in the cottages over night. The group would like to thank the Murphy family for the use of their excellent facilities and are already looking forward to the upcoming season.
