The Kilmore Quay Lifeboat Day takes place on Sunday 31at July opening at 2 p.m. This is a great family day out with usual stalls, face painting, duck racing, tea or coffee and cakes, raffle and lots more.. There will be the Des and Margaret Walsh Perpetual Cup Yacht Race, Yacht Club Auction in Kilmore Quay Lodge at 6 p.m., plus Bingo same night in the Stella Maris Centre at 8 p.m. There is designated parking in the village.
Kilmore scouts took part in the Seafood festival parade in Kilmore Quay last week. Brumjammers are making final arrangements for their big adventure when 38 adults and youths head to the International scout jamboree in Birmingham from July 29 to August 6.
Youth drama workshop

A big thank you to everyone who took part, supported and helped out at the annual Tractor Road Run last weekend. It was a fantastic occasion with €1,091 raised towards the Social Centre.
Women's Shed continues weekly Mondays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., except August 1 (bank holiday) and August 8 (annual break). New members welcome. Reading Room open at the same time.

The Skrine family have kindly offered to host an Afternoon Tea and Garden party on Sunday, August 7, at Butlerstown Castle, in aid of Tomhaggard social centre. The Skrine family are great supporters of the Social Centre, attending many social and cultural events while Helen read stories from her book at a Story and Poetry evening.
The Ballycogley Players were delighted to be asked to perform at St Anne's Novena variety night in Tomhaggard Social Centre on Tuesday night last. It was a fantastic nights entertainment. Well done to all those who took part, thank you to the wonderful audience and finally to the organising committee for making us feel so welcome.
Next stop for 'The Players' is next weekend at the variety concert as part of the Leo Carthy weekend. This will take place on Saturday, July 30, in Our Lady's Island community centre at 8 p.m. Admission €10, oap's €8. The night will feature Danescastle Music Group, The Temple Michael Ceilí Band, Yvette Walsh, George Lawlor, Ciara and Sinéad McCoy, Brendan Wickham and Co, Martina and Paula Keane, Paddy Scallan and comedy with the Ballycogley Players. MC will be South East Radio's Alan Corcoran. Free refreshments will be served. A night not to be missed.

Car boot sale
As part of events at Kilmore Village Fest weekend August 12 to August 15, we are holding a car boot, van or stand sale on Saturday, August 13, in the car park in Kilmore village from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cars €10 Vans or Stands €15. All Welcome.

Congratulations to Breda and Matty Reville, Grange, Kilmore who celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary last weekend when their family went back to the Brandon Hotel in New Ross where they had their reception all those years ago. The couple's son and daughters organised this special occasion for them. The family enjoyed the special dinner to celebrate the occasion.

Soccer summer camp
The Swansea City AFC/All Blacks AFC Summer Soccer Camp takes place on Wednesday, August 17, and Thursday, August 18, at All Blacks ground at Casey Park, Mayglass, from 10 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. daily Camp is open to all boys and girls aged seven to 14 of all abilities.

Leo Carthy Weekend
The annual Leo Carthy Traditional weekend will take place this Saturday/Sunday, July 30/31.
The weekend opens with a concert in Our Lady's Island Community Centre on Saturday at 8 p.m. sharp, featuring Danescastle Music Group, The Temple Michael Ceilí Band, Yvette Walsh, George Lawlor, Ciara and Sinéad McCoy, Brendan Wickham and Co, Martina and Paula Keane, Paddy Scallan and comedy with the Ballycogley Players. MC will be South East Radio's Alan Corcoran. Adm: €10, OAP. €8. Free refreshments will be served. A night not to be missed.
Festivities will continue on Sunday with Fun Run at 12.30. Mumming with Drinagh Mummers at 2.30 p.m.
Live Open Air with Teresa and the Stars. 4.30-7 p.m. Traditional music and song with numerous welll-known local artists, plus children's entertainment Treasure hunt, bouncy castle, face-painting etc.
Carne FC training
Carne FC are holding their first training session of the season this Tuesday evening, July 26, at 7.30 p.m. at their pitch in Carne. Potential new players are more than welcome to come along on the night and join in the training with our current squad.
The annual Patron in Our Lady's Island will take place on Sunday, August 14, St Iver's 5.30 p.m. Island Cemetery 6 p.m. Churchtown (Carne) 6.30 p.m., concludes with prayers in New Cemetery 7 p.m.
A great afternoon was had by all at the Tacumshane Parochial House last Sunday. We were blessed with the weather and we had a great turnout.
Proceeds from the day came to €1,830 and which funds are critically important to running our church.
A big thank you is due to everyone who helped on the day, who sponsored prizes and everyone who came and supported the cause. We thank Fr Brendan for his officiating and we also sincerely welcome Fr Jim on his first visit to Tacumshane.
