COISTE NA NÓG

Our U7 and under-8 hurlers took part in a blitz in Monageer on Saturday morning playing their hot Monageer-Boolavogue, Buffers Alley and Shelmaliers. There was a great turnout and great performances.

Our under-10 hurlers travelled also to Monageer the following morning to take part in an under-10 blitz. We fielded both an under-nine team and under-10 team on the day and each team played three games v hosts Monageer/Boolavogue, Buffers Alley and Faythe Harriers with the under-9s winning the Shield in an 18 point turnaround second half performance. Well done to all.

Congratulations to our under-12 hurlers who played St Anne's Rathangan in their Shield Co Final on Sunday morning in Innovate Wexford Park and were victorious on a scoreline of 3-5 to 1-1. Well done players and mentors.

Congratulations also to our under-14 footballers who booked a Shield final spot with a win over St Anne's during the week.

SENIOR GAA

Our Senior footballers play their Co semi-final on Sunday next, September 25, in Innovate Wexford Park v St Martin's and we ask that all club members please come along and support them in their endeavours.

The pairings for the Senior Hurling semi-finals have been made and Glynn-Barntown will play near neighbours Cloughbawn the following weekend. The club is delighted to have both teams placing in the top four in the county in both senior grades and looks forward to its prospects in the business stages of the competition.

ladies football

Unfortunately our under-14 ladies' footballers fell at the last hurdle at Oylegate on Sunday morning. We led at half time by two points in a very competitive first half. In a very close second half, we failed to convert a penalty and then lost a player to the sin-bin for 10 minutes, in a very harsh decision. Clonee took control at this stage and kicked on to win by 5.

We had some chances late on but in the end the best team won on the day. Congratulations to Clonee but our girls deserve great credit for a supreme effort. Well done also to the mentors for all their hard work and to the parents for their support.
