Dancing

Dancing continues ever Thursday night in Tír na nÓg with music by Bandit on October 6, Tom Murphy on October 13, Jimmy Barnwell on October 20, Halloween dance with Cupla on October 27. Congratulations to Bridget Quirke who won €200 on spin the wheel at last Thursday nights dance. All proceeds in aid of Ballymitty Handball club new build.

There will be a bus pick up drop off service from your house covering all areas to the social dance nights every Thursday night. A cover charge of €10 will include bus fare, admission to the dance, door prize entry and refreshment. For bus contact Markie Sinnott 087 2407755.

Harvest Festival

Duncormick Harvest Festival, a fabulous festival of food, music, art and crafts, games, children's' entertainment and much more, is being held in the historic village of Duncormick, Co Wexford on October 1 and 2. Please come along for a great day of entertainment - You've got to be there.

By order of the county Council road closures and diversions will be in operation in Duncormick village, from 11 a.m. till 8 p.m. on October 2. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your co-operation.

GAA club notes

Lotto this Tuesday evening. Jackpot is €5,300. Tickets can be purchased from the Post office Carrig, Seabreeze Laundrette Carrig, Tír na nÓg Wellingtonbridge or from any Club Officers in the complex. Tickets are €2 each or a book of six are €10.

Our Junior Ladies camogie team lost their county semi-final against Oylegate on Sunday last by two points. Hard luck ladies and big thanks to Davy, Bid and Patrick.

The Intermediate Football team have to play their county semi-final again this Saturday in Wexford Park at two o'clock after taking a draw against Ballyhogue last weekend. We wish them the very best of luck let's all get behind the team and their mentors Pip, Tomas and Dan.

Clonard GAA

Cygnets and Brigins

The Brigins had to cancel their hike plans and revert to plan B which was the cinema but everybody had a great time and the Raven Wood hike will be rescheduled. The Cygnets are out and about enjoying a nature walk, learning about and enjoying autumn.

Church Gate Collection

The Irish Wheelchair Association will hold their church gate collection on Saturday and Sunday, October 8 and 9. Your support would be gratefully appreciated.

Sewing Machine Class

Do you own your own sewing machine but don't know how to use it? There is a six week course for beginners starting Wednesday, October 19, from seven to 9 p.m. in Coolcotts Community Centre. Course fee €55.

Active retired

A busy week for the Section next week. The Bowls County League gets off to a brisk start with the Kilmore Gulls away to Bree at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, and the Kilmore Gulls at home to Gorey on Thursday the sixth in the SMC again at 2 p.m. The Kilmore Gulls play Enniscorthy in the SMC on Wednesday the 12th at 2 p.m.

The South East Region table quiz will take place in Duncannon, Star of the Sea Community Centre, on Monday, October 3, at 3 p.m. On Wednesday, October 5, the South East Region Ten-Pin Bowling will take place in Leisuremax at 10 a.m. Kilmore ARA will field a number of teams in this event. On Thursday, October 6, the monthly meeting will take place in Kilmore GAA at 7.30 p.m.

On Monday, October 10, the South East Region Final of the table quiz will take place in Carlow at 3 p.m. On Thursday, October 13, the Fun table quiz will take place in Quigley's in Kilmore at 8 p.m. in order to boost the coffers. Non-members are welcome to attend for a fun evening in pleasant company.

Knitting/Stitching Show

The Women's Shed are going to the Knitting and Stitching Show in the RDS on Saturday, October 22. There are some places available on the Bus if anyone is interested in joining them. They plan on stopping for meal on way home. Cost of bus depends on how many travel. Enquiries 087 6315425.

Bridgetown Handball

The under-15 60 by 30 Juvenile Doubles County Championships were finally completed last weekend with the semi-finals and Finals played in Ballymitty last Friday. Conor Scallan and Ryan Walsh were in action first and came up against a very strong Taghmon pair who won through to the final.

Our other pairing, Conor and Rory Cassidy, got a walkover in the other semi-final and then met the Taghmon pair in the final, with the same result unfortunately. Hard luck lads.

The adult 40 by 20 Championships for 2017 is already under way. Brian Busher came from behind to beat James Greene 2-1 in Junior D. Micheál Busher received a walkover in his first Junior B game. More results next week.

Quiz Night

A fun table quiz in aid of Bridgetown Men's Shed will be held on. October 9 at 8.30 p.m. in Greenacres Pub Tenacre.

Wedding Bells

Congratulations to Miss Melanie Kenny, Ballycross, Bridgetown and Philip Morgan, Ballyhealy, Kilmore who got married last week. Melanie is daughter of Bridget and Seán and Philip is son of Rita and the late John. We wish this couple many happy years of married life together.

On Friday, October 7, 8 p.m. the Stella Maris Centre will host a talk on the Asgard by Pat Murphy. KRH Tops

Registration night for KRH Tops for the coming year will be held in Kilrane NS from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11. Registration is for all children and adults interested in participating in this year's show, either onstage or backstage. Fees remain the same as previous years at €10 per child plus €5 insurance for the year, and €20 per adult plus €5 insurance for the year. Family rates will be applied.

We are also holding a monster fashion show on Thursday, November 3, in Danby Lodge with fashions supplied by Pennys, Candy Boutique and Industry. A draw will be held on Tuesday, October 11, at Registration, for children who express an interest in taking part in the Fashion Show to obtain models for this fun family night. A kickstart to our 2016/2017 year.
