Christmas fair

Clonard Christmas Fair will take place on December 3 and 4. We are looking for unwanted gifts and Bric-a-Brac in good condition for the fair. If you have items you would like to donate or if you would like to hire a stall at our fair please contact Karen in the parish office at 053 9123672.

Scoil Mhuire

Due to school closure for the October mid-term break, applications to enrol junior infants for September will be accepted up till Friday, November 11. The Application to Enrol form is available on the school's website coolcotts.com (enrolment section) or you can pick up a copy of the form at the school.

Fashion Show

Clonard Scout Group invites you to a fundraising Fashion Show on Friday, November 11, in the Talbot Hotel at 8 p.m. Clothes by Carrig Donn, Wallis, Louine, DV8 and others. Cost: €10 Adult and €5 child. A great night's entertainment is guaranteed.

Bereavement Support

Clonard Bereavement Support Group would like to offer you an opportunity to: Explore the journey of grief and loss. Seek understanding and support. Thanks to Sew Fun on the quay the Brigins have achieved another interest badge by making camp cushions. The Cygnets had a great time at the Halloween party hosted by Wexford town unit cygnets last Sunday. Thanks to all the girls and sponsors who helped raise money for the dream bike charity with their sponsored cycle in the church car park. November and December will be busy months for all the girls.

Ladies GFC

Clonard Volunteers Ladies Gaelic Football Team are holding a dinner dance/Presentation Night on Friday, November 25, in the Talbot Hotel at 8 p.m., dancing till late with DJ Lee Hynes, tickets €30, spot prizes galore. First Aid Course

Order Of Malta are running a First Aid Course in their Training Centre at St John's Drive commencing on Thursday, November 10. The classes run each Thursday for six weeks from eight to 10 p.m. The cost of the course is €90 per person and there is no need to pre-register, simply turn up on the first night.

FAB news

FAB Huggie bears Childcare Service held a fancy dress fundraising day on October 27. All Children and Staff dressed to impress on the day. FAB would like to express their appreciation to parents, children and Staff for their help, co-operation and generosity. The money raised will go towards the development and running of our Childcare Service.

FAB Community and Family Resource Centre will hold its AGM on Wednesday, November 23, at 4.30 p.m. in FAB Community and Family Resource Centre.

RACKARD LEAGUE

A very strong performance against Kilanernin recently in Enniscorthy resulted in Barntown National School securing their place in the Rackard League Boys Final. The match kicks off in Taghmon at 7.45 tonight - Tuesday, November 8, at 7.45 p.m. (flood-lit match) against Rathangan National School. Please, please, please hunt out your bunting, flags and jerseys and show your support for the boys. Great job Mr Cleary.

COFFEE MORNING

A coffee morning in aid of Wexford Hospice Homecare will be held in Boggan's Shop, Newtown Road on Thursday, November 17, from 10 a.m. - 12.30 p.m. Your support would be very much appreciated.

BARNTOWN CHURCH NEWS

November is the month when we especially remember our deceased family and friends. A mass of remembrances for the recent dead and all buried in Barntown Cemetry takes place on Sunday, November 27, at 11 a.m. This will be followed by a cuppa at the church and the blessing of graves.

CRAFT FARE cancelled

Unfortunately, due to unforseen circumstances, the Craft Fare due to take place in the Ferrycarrig Hotel on Sunday, November 20, has now been cancelled. Sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.

PARISH COMMITTEE

Pongo continues on the first Tuesday of every month. See you all again on Tuesday, December 6, at 8 p.m. in the kitchen of the hall.

GLYNN CHRISTMAS BAZZAAR

This year's Christmas Bazaar will be held on Sunday, December 11, after 10 o'clock mass. Please start putting any bric-a-brac you have may have aside. This is a annual fundraiser for the upkeep of the hall and your support on the day will be much appreciated.

CAMOGIE AGM

Glynn-Barntown camogie club AGM takes place this Friday, November 11, in the clubhouse at 8 p.m.

On Friday evening our under-14 camogie and Ladies' football team were presented with new training tops in acknowledgement of their achievements in reaching both Co. Finals this year.

Camogie Club news

Kilmore camogie club will host a breakfast morning on Sunday, November 13, from 9.30 to 1.30 in Kilmore Parish Hall. The Full Irish is only €5 so come on down and let us feed you.

The club will hold their AGM on Friday, November 18, at 8 p.m. in GAA club rooms. We would like to ask all players and parents to attend. We are always looking for new people to help out in our club in any way, so please come along and let's build up our club. It's our future.

Active retired

On Wednesday, November 9, the County Bowls League have Kilmore Gulls Versus Bree in the SMC at 2 p.m. On Wednesday, November 16, at 1.30 p.m. in the SMC the Gulls take on the Seals in a home Derby. After the event we will have Tea and Scones with a fun table quiz to finish off the afternoon. On the week of the 21st (on a date to be confirmed) the Seals will take on New Ross.

On Wednesday, November 23, the Christmas Lunch will take place in the Danby Lodge. A choice of Beef or Salmon should be communicated to Séamus O'Keeffe before November 18. There are still some space on the coach travelling to the Michael English night on Thursday, November 24. Contact Séamus for details, Coach €10 from Kilmore and a number of locations. Ten Pin Bowling in Leisuremax on Mondays at 10.30 a.m. all welcome.

Drama News

The Ballycogley Players have had a busy time on stage recently. They performed their one-act plays and sketches in St Michael's hall from October 27 to October 30 where they were supported by 'full houses' each night. Thank you so much to the wonderful audiences who joined us and to the staff of St Michael's who, as always are so helpful to us. Thanks also to those who donated to and gave so generously to our nightly raffles.

Next stop for 'The Players' was at Carrig-on-Bannow on Sunday night, November 6, where again we staged our night of comedy. We always enjoy the warm welcome in Carrig and now we look forward to performing in Fethard-on-Sea next Sunday, November 13, with a start time of 8 p.m.

Meanwhile, rehearsals for next year's 3-act play 'Lay me down softly' by Billy Roche are in full swing with director Breda Hayes keeping the cast on their toes.

Christmas Craft Fair

Kilmore Community Hall Volunteers together with Kilmore parents' association will be running our fourth Christmas Fair in the school hall on Sunday, November 27, from 10.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you wish to book a stand please contact Helen at 086 2665149. We hope to have the usual array of handcrafted products, hand knits, wreaths, plants, decorations, skin products, food hampers, bakery, photography and lots more goodies on offer. Our local RNLI will have their stand with Christmas cards and other souvenirs for sale. Face paainting and popcorn for the children. As part of this fundraiser breakfast will be served in the Community Hall from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Refreshments will be available at the Fair from 11 a.m.

All roads lead to Tullamore this week, as the club sets off to support their very own Kate Brunette in the Macra Queen of the land festival. Kate, a New Zealand native will represent County Wexford and her club and we wish her the very best of look over the weekend. There is welding and indoor soccer, along with drama and capers competitions coming up in the next few weeks, along with various social nights planned. Camross Drama Group

The festival play 'In for a Penny' received a third place in Goresbridge. Paddy O'Gorman received a best actor award in Moate.
