Well done to the two local teams in the quiz county final on Thursday evening last. The standard of answering was very high and the teams were well placed by coming fifth and seventh overall. Team members were Sam Twomey, Adam Twomey, Michael Roche, Cormac Kehoe, Aoibhe Donegan, Michael Humphrey, Odin Doyle and Cody Doran. Best wishes to all local participants in the upcoming art, Handwriting and Middles Distance county finals.

Youth Club news
The county talent competitions, 'Juniors Got Talent' (for junior club members) and 'Youth Factor' (for senior members) will take place on Friday, March 24, in Oylegate Community Centre.
There are seven categories: Solo Singing; Group Singing; Solo Music; Group Music; Solo Dance; Group Dance and Performance, which includes Drama Pieces, storytelling, Poetry Recital; Individual 'Stand Up' Comedy; Magic Act; Impersonators; Juggling Act; Ventriloquist etc. The maximum number in Performance is 10 people and the minimum is one.
Entries must be submitted to FDYS before Monday, March 13. We will be recruiting acts at Youth Club over the next two weeks and hope that many of those who took part in our Variety show in December will get involved.
Galbally Tractor Run
The annual Galbally Tractor Run in aid of Galbally Parish Funds will take place on Sunday, May 28.

Bree Youth Club's split-the-pot fundraiser is now up and running. Envelopes are available in local shops and at Youth Club each Friday night. Draw will take place on the last Friday of each month at Youth Club.
Please support this venture as all funds raised will go back into the youth club. Remember. If you're not in, you can't win.

SN Seosamh Naofa, Bree are now accepting enrolments for September 2017. Enrolment packs can be collected at the school office or you can call the office (053 247725) for a pack to be posted out. Please return the completed enrolment forms by March 1.
A meeting will be held in the coming weeks to provide information on the next steps in possibly setting up a First Responders scheme. The under-14 Féile camogie team will hold a breakfast morning on Saturday, March 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Oylegate Community Centre. Please come along for a hearty breakfast.
GAA lotto draw held February 22 numbers were 4, 13, 15 and 16 bonus 5. Lucky-dip winners were John Reck Snr, Joe Murphy, Lee Kehoe, Martin Fitzgerald, Paul Kilpatrick, Pauline Farrell, Fiona Doran and Seán Quirke. Next draw March 8 for €13,300 jackpot.
The Glenbrien Church Draw winners for February were as follows: First prize Nick Doran; €40 each: John and Annamay Conroy, Danny and Ellen Murphy, Jimmy Doyle and Dan and Majella Doran.

A very big thank you to all the parents, who donated Pancakes for the annual event in the school. Over 120 pancakes were consumed by the children on Tuesday along with the usual toppings in keeping with the healthy eating programme that is in place in the school the children were also offered Pineapple, Melon, Grapes, Blueberries, Raspberries, and they were all consumed, Thanks to the parents' association who sponsored the event.
Village Renewal Group
A memorable night was had by all at the recent fundraiser. A heartfelt thanks to all those who turned up on the night A special thanks to the Slaney Inn who turned the Lounge into a Cinema for the night. To all those who bought tickets and donated prizes for the raffle, a great night was had by all.
Oulart-The Ballagh hurlers are renowned for their exceptional exploits on the playing fields and now the public will soon have an opportunity to see them in a different light.
On Thursday, March 16, the Eve of St Patrick's Day, in Oulart Community Centre they will present and star in a 'Spectacular Variety Concert' with acts including 'The Rose of Oulart-The Ballagh', The '95 % Monty', 'Mr and Mrs', and 'Lip Sync'. There will be an Over-18s Bar also. Tickets are only €10 for this 'not-to-be-missed' night of unique entertainment.
You will have noticed the ongoing work at the site of the new 'Mise Éire' Monument in Oulart Village, featuring the 1916 Proclamation, which is being erected to commemorate the ideals and heroic deeds of the people of Oulart and the Ballagh in 1916 and the following years.
In order to help defray some of the costs associated with the new monument a table quiz will be held in the Oulart Hill Bar on Friday, March 31, beginning at 9 p.m. A team of four will cost a mere €20 and the questions will be within the range of the ordinary person.
Families with a connection to the heroes of 1916, local organisations and interested individuals are encouraged to enter a team in the table quiz on the last day of March.

Scór Loch Garman
The Scór table quiz will be held in St Martin's GAA Club on Thursday, March 9, beginning at 8 p.m. There is no entry fee. Winners go forward to represent Wexford GAA in the all-Ireland Final. Please contact Breda Jacob if you are interested in taking part.
Due to the popularity of the local 'Operation Transformation Walks' they will continue for the next six weeks on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, beginning at 8 p.m., from the Upper GAA pitch (Páirc '98). All are welcome to join in the walks.
A GAA registration night will be held on Tuesday, March 7, in Oulart Community Centre. All players must be registered so that they are eligible for training and playing matches. The fees are as follows: €20 for under-six, under-eight and under-10. The registration fee is €30 for under-12 and under-14. Juvenile and minor registration fee is €40. The underage player family membership will not exceed €60 for any family. Contact Elizabeth Freeman if you have any queries re underage GAA.
Parents/guardians are reminded that enrolment forms for Junior Infants and any other pupils who wish to start primary school in Oulart National School (Scoil Mochua) are available from the school office from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sooner the school gets all applications the earlier decisions can be made regarding class splits for 2017-2018.

Oulart-The Ballagh camogie club and GAA Coiste na nÓg invite you to lunch on Sunday, March 19, in Oulart Community Centre between midday and 2 p.m. Sit back and relax and enjoy a main course, dessert and tea or coffee - €10 for adults and €5 for children. This is a fundraiser for our Féile 2017 teams and your support, as always, would be greatly appreciated.
Camogie club news
The senior team commenced their Leinster League campaign away to St Vincent's last Sunday, March 5. The girls have home venue against Ballyboden on Sunday, March 12. Their final game is away to St Martin's on Sunday, March 26. We wish them all the best in the competition. All support welcome.
Cake Sale - underage camogie and GAA committees send a big thank you to everyone who baked for the recent Cake Sale. Mile buíochas also to everyone who helped to make it such a fantastic success. A massive €936 was raised to help our underage hurling and camogie teams that are preparing for Féile. The support from the people of the parish was brilliant, as always.

Smart Kidz playschool is opening in September 2017. It is located two miles from Oylegate and Glenbrien just off the main N11 road. In a country location where the children will get to meet a variety of farm animals. ECCE Scheme places will be available for children from three to five years Monday to Friday from 9.15 a.m. to 12.15 p.m. Children from aged 2 and a half can also attend for a fee of €5 per hour. Laugh for Hospice and Hope will be held on Saturday, March 11, in Mernagh's Lounge Oylegate at 9.30 p.m. This will be a night of pure comedy, in aid of Wexford Hospice Homecare and the Hope Cancer Support Centre. Music by On the Run. Donations at the door and a raffle will be held on the night. Please come along and support this very worthy cause.
