The weekly '30' card game continues in the Community Centre this Friday, March 17, at 9 p.m. Thanks to the ladies for the tea last week. The winner of the Adamstown NS Parents Assoc split-the-pot draw on Tuesday, March 7, was Tony Bradley, who received €95 with the PA getting the same amount. The next draw is on Tuesday, March 21, please note the draw day has been changed to Tuesday. Envelopes cost €2.
Our condolences to Leila Kent and family Adamstown on the death of Leila's sister in law Ina, Enniscorthy, who died on Friday, March 3. Beloved wife of the late Martin, our sympathy also to her sons and daughter. Her extended family, relations and friends. Her funeral Mass took place in St Aidan's Cathedral with burial afterwards in St Mary's cemetery. May she rest in peace.
Our condolences to the Goldsmith family in Killinick, on the death of Frank Goldsmith, who died on Friday, March 3. Our sympathy to Frank's beloved wife Kitty, his children, Jack, Wally, Biddy, Michelle, Sandra and Nicola, and his grandchildren. Also to his extended family, relations and friends. His funeral Mass took place on Sunday, March 5, in St Mary's Church, Ballymore, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

St Patrick Mass at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, and on Friday, March 17, at 10.30 a.m. a collection will be taken up at the offertory of the mass in aid of the annual costs associated with studying for the Priesthood of the diocese of Ferns.

Bishop Denis Brennan will visit Bree this Thursday to administer the sacrament of Confirmation to the boys and girls of sixth class from Bree National School.
There is a meeting of all Bree Macra na Feirme members on Sunday next, March 19, at 4 p.m. Meeting is to plan summer events. All new members are welcome to attend.
The county talent competitions, 'Juniors Got Talent' (for junior club members) and 'Youth Factor' (for senior members) will take place on Friday, March 24, in Oylegate Community Centre. There are seven categories: Solo Singing; Group Singing; Solo Music; Group Music; Solo Dance; Group Dance and Performance, which includes Drama Pieces, storytelling, Poetry Recital; Individual 'Stand Up' Comedy; Magic Act; Impersonators; Juggling Act; Ventriloquist etc. The maximum number in Performance is 10 people and the minimum is one.

The annual Galbally Tractor Run in aid of Galbally Parish Funds will take place on Sunday, May 28, Bri Beag Community Childcare We are currently seeking applications for relief staff to cover staff absences and holidays. Minimum QQI Level five and one years' experience in the childcare sector is required. Best wishes this week to the under-16 Chess Team of Michael Humphrey, Cormac Kehoe, Odin Doyle, Nicholas Howe and Tom Quigley, who compete against Carlow in the intercounty round.

Community Centre AGM
The Bree Community Centre AGM will be held on Monday, April 3, at 8.30 p.m. All organisations are requested to have two representatives present at this AGM.

A clothes collection in support of friends of Calcutta (CHY 13218) will take place on Thursday, March 16, All items of wearable clothing are most welcome, shoes, curtains and bed sheets etc. Items can be left from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Clonard Community Centre car park.

Clonard Volunteer Ladies will be holding a clothing collection fundraiser on Saturday, March 25, at Clonard GAA Pitch at 10.30, Please donate your unwanted clothes and textiles, mobile phones and laptops to raise much needed funds for our growing club. Our senior women played their first league game last Sunday V Shells where they secured the three points win with a final score line of 5-9 V 4-6. The next senior game is away to Kilanerin on St Patrick's Day at 6 p.m., our junior team will have their fist outing also away to Taghmon on Sunday the 19th at 4 p.m., we wish both teams the best of luck especially our new members who will play in their first adult games, as always plenty of support is needed and appreciated.

Well done to TO Emma Sweeneand and Cora Doyle St Joseph's who brought the Ladies Leinster Minor doubles title back to the parish over the weekend, beating Kilkenny's Dearbhail O'Keeffe and Sorcha Delaney on a score line of 21-13, 21-18.
They now advance to the all-Ireland semi-final in April where they will take on the Connacht Champions.
MAYOR OF BARNTOWN
Update: We're on the final countdown and what a race it has been so far, the leader changed on the 04th and final update night, Tom Dempsey has now taken the lead. For those that were there to witness it, the outside broadcast from Bantry was certainly the highlight of the night. Our next event is a car boot sale on Sunday, March 19, after 11 a.m. mass.
The main event of the race is our field day on the Parish Pitch on Sunday, March 26, at 2 p.m. The winner will be announced on Sunday Night March 26 in Election Headquarters (Mary Jos) but not before the candidates have one final shot at getting much sought after votes with the race to be mayor of Barntown Auction.

CAMOGIE club news
Well done to our senior camogie team who had a good win over Kilrush in Killurin on Sunday 0-10 to 1-5.
CALLING ALL 7/8 YEAR OLD GIRLS - under-8 camogie training is starting at the hurling wall on Saturday, March 25, at 11 a.m. Come along and join the fun.
COACHING SESSION - Paudie Butler (former National Director of Hurling) will be taking a minor camogie training session on Thursdau March 16 6.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the hurling wall with a short informal chat from 8 p.m. in the clubhouse and a cup of tea afterwards. All hurling/camogie club coaches are encouraged to attend as this should be hugely beneficial for club training going forward.
Hard luck to all of our club girls who wore the Wexford camogie jersey on Sunday-Roisin, Clodagh, Emma, Holly and Aisling with the Co. Minors were defeated by Kilkenny in St Patrick's Park, while Aoife and Chloe suffered the same fate with the Co. Intermediates away to Kilkenny and Emma and the Co. Seniors were defeated by Tipperary in St Patrick's Park.
Well done to club girls Emma Sweeney and Cora Doyle, who donned the purple and gold jerseys on Saturday to win the Leinster Doubles Minor handball champions v Kilkenny.
Best of luck to clubgirl Cora Doyle, the first Wexford girl to play in an all-Ireland handball ladies minor singles final in Cavan on March 18 and to Eva Crean and her partner Cliodhna in the all-Ireland ladies minor doubles final on the same day.

Our Minor hurling championship kicked off on Sunday morning in Killurin v Oylegate-Glenbrien in a competitive game which ended in a draw.

FÉILE NEWS - The Féile hurling draws were made during the week and Glynn-Barntown one will host a Westmeath team while Glynn-Barntown two will host a Louth team. On the camogie front Glynn-Barntown will hosta team from Tipperary. Club managers Mickey Laffan and Shane Carley (hurling) and Georgina Roche (camogie) and their backroom teams are looking forward to the challenge.
Our First Féile Fundraiser is on Sunday, March 19. A coffee morning will take place at the clubhouse from 10.30 a.m. to midday Donations of buns and cakes will be greatly appreciated and accepted from 9.45 a.m. on the day. Hoping we will have everyone's support as Féile 2017 is a big weekend for our under-14 boys and girls. Let the memories begin.
ST PATRICK'S day PARADE
Glynn-Barntown GAA, camogie and Ladies' Football clubs will March in the St Patrick's Day parade March 17, let's fly the flag together. We will meet at Fishers Row at 10.15 a.m., the parade will move off at 11 a.m. Children to be collected by parents at Redmond Square immediately after the parade. Please wear your club top - all are welcome to participate.
Well done to our senior hurlers who defeated Shelmaliers 2-15 to 1-14 in Hollymount in the league on Saturday Well done also to Mark Fanning and Gary Moore and the Wexford Senior hurlers who travelled to Tullamore to earn a victory over Offaly in the NHL on Sunday.
On Saturday, March 18, Glynn-Barntown will play Castletown in the senior football league at home at 2 p.m. Ireland play England in Six Nations rugby at 5 p.m. which will be shown in the clubhouse bar afterwards.

The girls played their first championship game of the year on Saturday away v Offaly but were defeated on this occasion. Joining Sinéad on the field were her clubmates Aisling Comiskey and Grace Roche. Hard luck girls.
Congratulations also to the under-14 Presentation Wexford footballers on winning the Wexford schools 'B' blitz competition on Tuesday in the centre of Excellence in Ferns and to our own club members Emma Dempsey, Rebecca Fanning, Rachel Murphy and Sinéad Kirwan.
