Taghmon-Camross

Camross ICA

On July, seventh, as part of our annual outing, a few of the ladies went up to An Grianán (ICA Head Office) in Termonfeckin for the annual Garden Party. Our driver, Seán, picked us up from Camross hall at 7 a.m. The weather was on our side and the whole day was beautiful. We enjoyed a fabulous day with a great fashion show, lovely food and great entertainment all day long. T.

he next day we visited the Aikeen Barracks where Farther David Murphy welcomed us with a lovely lunch, which was followed by a very interesting guided tour of the barracks. Fr Murphy's colleague, Peter was our guide for this trip back in the history of the barracks. A big thank you to Peter for taking the time on his day off and for sharing his passion with us.

We were soon on our way again to Newbridge for a spot of shopping. We finished this most enjoyable day with a delicious dinner served in the Talbot Hotel in Carlow. This year again, we are most grateful for our driver for the trip, Seán Fenlon from Nash buses, who took us safely on our great trip in a very professional and friendly manner. A special thank you goes to Dympna Kelly (our guild president) and all the ladies who helped organising such a successful tour. I personally look forward to next year's trip.

In September, a coffee day for the Hospice will be held by Mary Kelly (date to be decided). After our summer break, we will be back in Camross Hall on September 4 at 8 p.m. The monthly competition will be the 'nicest bunch of wild flowers'.
