A documentary on the St Kearns explosion which claimed the lives of five men will be shown in Grantstown on Friday, October 6, from 7 p.m. This will be followed by a talk on the tragedy and on the making of the movie. Before the film an auction of items including hotel vouchers, spa vouchers and household items will be held.

A-team were at home to Moyne yesterday in the first round of the Leinster junior cup and had a hard earned 5-4 victory after extra time.
Corach's B team hosted Castledockrell on Sunday in the afternoon kickoff. The boys continued their 100% start to the season with an incredible 10-2 victory. There will surely be tougher days ahead but these men are definitely a force to be reckoned with.
Corach Ladies got back to business with a 5-1 away win. Sarah Eustace, Shannon McDonald and Sinéad O'Connor put us 3-0 up before a dodgy peno in the 59th minute of the first half saw the half time score at 3-1. Geraldine Curtis and Claire Eustace ensured the win in the second half.
Under-13s got their season off to a 4-3 loss today to Cloughbawn. Goals from Cillian Cullen (2) and Alex Power (1)
Under-15s got their season off to a good start this afternoon at home v Ballymurn Celtic. Goals from Dylan Murphy, Joe Devlin (2) and Ben Smith sealed a 4-2 win with standout performances from Cathal Cummins, Cody Meyler and Micheál Dundon. These boys have a lot more in the tank and if they continue to work hard could be serious contenders this season.

The death occurred this week of Tom McDonald Ballymakesey, Clonroche formerly from Barrystown. Tom was a renowned historian and a member of the local historical society where his depth of knowledge was invaluable. Funeral Mass was in St Clement's church Cloughbawn with burial afterwards in Clongeen cemetery. Tom is survived by his brother John and sister Helen. May he rest in peace.
On Friday October 6 at Grantstown Community Village we will be showing a documentary of the tragedy that took place in St Kearns in 1920, starring local actors. There is an auction beforehand starting at 7pm followed by the movie at 7.45 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

There was no winner of last week's jackpot of €5,200. The winning numbers were 6, 7, 16 and 18. There was four match-three winners each winning €50. As a Token of our Appreciation and Gratitude to everyone for your contribution to our recent Fundraising Event, we are inviting you to our 'Thank You Night' on Saturday, October 7, from 9 p.m. in the Rathangan Bar, we will reveal the Final Total raised and present 'Ask' with their cheque raised at the 'Dawn Walk'.

Rathangan's Little Breeches re-opened on Tuesday, September 5. It offers a warm and welcoming environment where children can explore, play and learn in our outdoor and indoor environments. Fastnet Rovers fc
Our Monthly Mega Money draw envelopes are now available from all players and from all leading local retailers. This replaces our weekly minute ticket draw and is key to funding the running and development of the club. Your support is appreciated. Our season is now under way and we are still taking registrations for the upcoming season for our men's, women's and underage teams.
Work has started on a few projects at Tomhaggard Social Centre. The roof has been repaired, hardcore surface on access to rear of building being done next week and plans have been drawn up for new kitchen. This work has been made possible by the generous support of the community at our fundraising events and Amenity Grant.
Wood donated by Karen and Mick Doyle Markand Garden Sheds has been chopped up for Kindling by Venture Scouts and is on sale at the Social Centre Mon 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wed 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. And Sat 10 a.m. to 11.30 a.m., only €2 per bag.
