Art exhibition - 13th Annual Art Exhibition will be held in the Murrintown Community Centre during the Opera Festival. As in previous years we look forward to displaying the talent of our local residents.

Spanish Trip: we are off to Spain on 5th October 2016 for 7 nights half board basis (b'fast, dinner including wine) in Pineda de Mar, Costa Brava in the Golden Taurus hotel (or similar hotel) based on 25 travelling. €399.00 per person sharing, SRS applies. First Aid Course

A Basic First Aid Course will be held in Piercestown (Guide & Scout Hall) starting 15th October and will continue every Thursday until 26th November. It will include a complete Heartsaver CPR/AED course. The course will begin at 7.30pm and finish at 10.30pm. For further information contact Chris on 086 8476116.

Scout Group

Scout group now re-opened for Meetings. Beavers Thurs nights 6.30 - 7.30 pm: Cubs and Scouts 7.30 - 9pm on Tuesdays.

If any family have used Scout Jumpers for Beavers or Cubs and shirts for Scouts, belts/neckerchiefs in good condition which you would like to 'recycle' please drop up to the hall any Tues evening. We can re-sell them for you.

Uniform costs have increased again and it would be a great help to parents to be able to purchase good condition used uniform parts at a reasonable rate. Weekly subscription €3.00. Registration €45.00 per youth member.

We have a big fundraising event on Thursday/Friday/Saturday 29th-31st Octobert selling lines for a 'Shopping Trolley' dash in Pettit's St Aidans and we need parents to man the desk for 1-2 hours at a time. It is 2 years now since we had an extra fundraising event like this and we ask for your support.

We need to re place tents and other equipment to facilitate all sections having sufficient equipment for camping and weekly badgework etc. we have already had to purchase some items during the summer for our start up in September.

Please support and give your name to your Beave/Cub/Scout Section Leader or to Jane Power Group Leader over next couple of weeks so we will know what hours we have covered. We thank you again for your continued support.

Clothing Collection

A Lenrec Clothing Collection will take place on Monday 19th October. Bags can be dropped to the Scout Hall (across the road from the school) before 9.30am on the morning of the 19th or at the Scout Hall up on the veranda on Sunday 18th October between 10am and 1pm. All funds raised go to Piercestown National School. Many thanks for your co-operation with this.

Bowling: Interest has been expressed in re-starting the indoor bowling. Anybody who is interested please come to the Railway Social club on at 2.30pm on Thursday, 22nd October.

We continue to remember in our thoughts and prayers those of our members who are currently ill.

Drama Time

As part of The Wexford Fringe Events, The Ballycogley Players will present 3 One Act plays in St.Michaels Hall, Thomas Street, Wexford from Thursday 22nd to Sunday 25th October at 8pm nightly. Admission €10

The Ballycogley Players celebrate 40 years in drama this year & we are having a celebration night to mark this milestone on Friday 6th November in The Best Western Danby Lodge Hotel, Rosslare Rd, Wexford at 8.30pm. All past & present members of our group are invited to attend.

A great night is in store which should not to be missed. Hope to see you all there.

Community Art Exhibition

The annual Community Art Exhibition will take place at the Rosslare Harbour Maritime Heritage Centre from Saturday 24th October to Sunday 1st November inclusive, as part of the Wexford Festival Opera Fringe. Opening times are from 12noon - 5.30pm on each day.

The official opening will take place on Friday 23rd October at 7pm. All are welcome

Christmas Toy Sale

There is a Christmas Toy Sale on Sunday 29th November. We know Christmas can be an expensive time of year, so come along to our event and grab a bargain. This is a fundraising event for Rosslare Community.

Christmas Craft Fair

The Annual Christmas Craft Fair in Scoil Mhuire Rosslare in aid of our School Orchestra will take place this year on Sunday 6th December from 10am to 1pm. This event has become the annual start to the Christmas Season in Rosslare and we look forward to seeing many familiar faces again this year. If you wish to have a table at the Craft Fair please contact Georgina at the school office on 0539132501. Tables cost €10 each, towards the music programme currently running in the school. school orchestra

There is a Church Gate Collection on Sat/Sun 24th/25th October in aid of Rosslare School Orchestra. We now have 30 students playing violins, cellos and flutes and we hope to have another 20 join the orchestra after the Halloween break. We also have four students on scholarship to the Wexford School Of Music. This is a great opportunity for students to learn an instrument. All Support would be much appreciated.

ST. MARY'S DAY CARE

Donations: We are asking for donations for our upcoming events. Any unwanted gifts, drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), new or good as new items or clothes would be greatly appreciated. You can drop items into the centre or If you have items and want us to collect them please call on 053-9132624.

Day Services: We currently have a few vacant places for Day Services on a Friday. We offer breakfast on arrival, card games, chat, TV, etc. On to lunch time then, this consists of a 3 course meal, and in the afternoon we have some lively music entertainment, Karaoke or pongo and finally at the end of an exciting and entertaining day we have some afternoon tea with a cake/bun before going home.
