On Sunday June 20th people from all corners of the parish gathered in the community centre field to participate in the first Crossabeg/ Ballymurn Community Challenge.

The event consisted of 8 different challenges, both physical and mental, which provided great sport for participants and supporters alike. A total of 13 teams entered on the day, with participants of all ages right up to the most senior, Bob Lambert.

The result was in doubt right up to the last event, the obstacle course, when Zac Corish¡¯s team emerged victorious. The team also included Tendai O'Connor, Seamus Carrol, Niall Rossiter and Mark O'Connor. Zac has challenged all comers to return next year to try to wrest the beautiful perpetual trophy from his grasp.

Younger children were very well catered for also with a range of fun activities organised by members of Crossabeg Youth Club.

Once everyone had worked up an appetite they were well fed by our local barbeque experts. Everyone had a great evening and it provided the Community Centre Committee with a great opportunity to show off the facilities open to all at the venue.
