BREE/GALBALLY

PRESIDENT OPENS BRI BEAG

The President of Ireland, Mary McAleese, was in Bree last Wednesday to officially open Bri Beag. She spoke with children, staff and committee of the facility. Following her address to the large crowd gathered in the grounds of Bree Hall for the event she was presented with a number of gifts by the children of Bri Beag. Sinead Parnell spoke on behalf of Bri Beag while Paud Moriarty spoke on behalf of Bree Community Development Group.

BREE MACRA

Bree Macra has VIP tickets for sale for the three evening gigs at the Enniscorthy Strawberry Fest. Acts include The Coronas, UB40, Ryan Sheridan, Cry Before Dawn and The Saw Doctors. VIP tickets ensure cover from rain, clear view of the main stage, a chance to mingle with the acts, guaranteed admission in the event of an early sell out and own private bar with cocktails and increased bar options.

Tickets are on sale from Niall Doyle and Sinead Hughes at €30. A small contribution from each ticket sold will go towards Bree Macra funds so please support. (Please note this ticket does not cover admission for Jedward).

PATRON AND FIELD DAY

Galbally Patron and Field Day takes place on Sunday next, June 26th commencing with prayers at 2.30pm.

'SEISIUN' RETURNS

The ' Comhaltas Seisiún' Sessions, in association with Celtic Roots, return to Bree Community Centre on 5th July and continue weekly on Tuesday nights at 8.30pm for the months of July and August. Each Session begins with the serving of scones and tea / coffee followed by a full programme of Music, Song, Dance and Storytelling. Cost is €10 for adults with concessions for large groups and children. For bookings and further details contact 087-7535354.

BREE TIDY TOWNS

Bree Tidy Towns would like to thank all those who worked over the past number of weeks to keep the area looking so well. The judging for this year's competition takes place shortly and the committee asks everyone to continue their efforts.

GAA NEWS

There were no Jackpot winner of the Ballyhogue GAA Lotto which took place in Byrnes of Bree recently. The numbers drawn were 3, 24, 29 and 32. The match 3 winners were Liam Maher snr., Mick Foley and Billy Cosgrave. The next draw will take place on June 29th in Ryan's of Galbally. The Junior footballers play district rivals Monageer on Friday 24th of June at 8 pm in Monageer. The Intermediates face Réalt na Mara in Bree on Monday, 27th of June.

BALLYBRENNAN PATRON

The Ballybrennan Patron will take place on Friday evening, July 22nd. The Bree Patron will take place on Sunday, August 21st.
