'IT'S a laugh out loud calendar - turn over each month, laugh and enjoy,' says Christina Armstrong after launching her 'nudie farmers' calendar.

The publication in aid of Aware and of the rehabilitation ward at St. John's Hospital in Enniscorthy is full of pictures of of male farmers at work, without their clothes on.

Living in Enniscorthy and working at the vet's hospital in Wexford, Christina reckoned that she knew plenty of fellas of the agricultural persuasion. So she signed up 15 of them, across the aged range from late 20s to OAP, to pose for photographer Susie Kelly in their natural, naturist setting on the land or in the barn.

'It was amazing on set. We had the best of craic,' recalls Christina. 'It was a lot of fun.' The whole exercise of compiling the pictures was carried out in the best possible taste, with strategically placed leaves, buckets, dogs or other handy farm material placed so that the end product does not fall foul of standards of public decency.

'The Model Farmers' calendar was officially launched at T Morris in Wexford's Monck Street and the calendar has already gone on sale in a variety of outlets. However, do not look out for a naked thigh or an undraped torso on the shop shelves. The cover shows one cheerful son of the soil feeding his pony, fully dressed and enjoying a pint.
