Funding boost for FAB

FAB COMMUNITY Development Project at Coolcotts in Wexford are pleased to announce that they have secured some funding from the Sisters of Mercy Social Solidarity Trust fund.

This funding will enable the programme to deliver support and services to individuals and families in the local community.

The Family Support and Advocacy Programme which has been in existence for a number of years has gone from strength to strength over the past year.

The programme aims to provide information, support, and interventions to families who are struggling with particular issues.

It is managed by a group of volunteers, parents and staff of FAB CDP whose main aim is to develop resources and supports for families in the area that are preventative in nature.

The kind of issues that are supported through the programme include drugs and alcohol addictions, family relationships, education and parenting.

The Family Support and Advocacy Programme provides a number of services which include a weekly peer support group for parents and siblings of drug/ alcohol addicts and a young mothers programme which delivers education, training and developmental modules to young women in the area.

What is also provided is oneto-one support and advice, when requested.

If a family is struggling with particular issues, we can accompany and/or refer them to the correct services and agencies.

To contact a family support worker, please telephone Molly or Catherine on ( 085) 1180997 or on (053) 9142018.
