THERE was plenty of excitement in Rosslare on Friday night as footballer Stephen Hunt officially opened the doors on his new venture 'Tides Gastro Pub'.
The pub, which was formerly Brady's of Rosslare, enjoyed a brilliant opening weekend which saw the people of the village and much further afield come down to sample the atmosphere and take in the new décor.
Hunt has ploughed money into renovating the old pub and the interior has received a complete revamp with a lovely seaside theme that fits perfectly with its location.
Stephen rolled up his sleeves and was hard at work on opening night as he served customers and chatted with what he hopes will become his new regulars.
Also paying a visit to the pub over the weekend was fellow Ireland soccer star and Waterford man John O'Shea, who was originally rumoured to have invested in the business.
However, it later emerged that Hunt was to be the sole proprietor, although O'Shea continued to be linked with Brady's in the Faythe.
Traditional band Ril Og ensured that everyone was kept entertained on the evening and, with the official opening now out of the way, Stephen will he hoping the pub will enjoy successful holiday season in Rosslare.
