Wexford's Riverbank House Hotel hosted a charity darts classic in memory of John Sweeney of Barntown, and raised some €2,200 in funds for Crumlin Street Children's Hospital.
John was a former employee of the hotel who passed away in March last year, and who was himself a keen darts player. This was the second darts tournament held in John's memory and it was organised by Dave Ryan, Niall Butler, and Tony Bergin.
According to Dave, this year's event attracted 150 people throughout the day including semi-professional players from Tyrone, Belfast and Donegal.
'John was our best friend so we organised the tournaments to keep his memory alive and perhaps make it one of the best in the country in time,' he said.
The tournament was won by Mikie Mansell from Northern Ireland.
