KILMORE

U12 GIRLS FOOTBALL

Kilmore played Ballyhogue in the county final on sat, with good support on their side they had to do their best.

With the girls out to win Ballyhogue had a battle on their hands. Kilmore were first to score with a point from Cora Millar, followed by a goal and a point by Sophie Tierney. It was tough but Kilmore held on and scored another point from Lauren Cousins.

Ballyhogue scored a goal but at half time Kilmore were holding their own.As the second half was approching the end another point was scored by Sophie Tierney and Ballyhogue came back with a goal at the end, making it a nail biting finish. Kilmore held on and won by a point (1 goal and 4 points to 2 goals).

It was a great match and well done to the girls and their mentors, MJ Berry and Nicky Scallan.

ALL BLACKS

Our U-8's continued their development with a trip to Bridge Rovers on Saturday where they played two games. The U-12 boys hosted Gorey Celtic on Saturday last in what turned out to be a thriller. After going behind 2-0, Robert Cloney pulled one back after a great run down the left by Emmet Doyle. Restarting after half time 31down, the Blacks pulled one back early when Quinn Saunders' cross was neatly finished again by Cloney before the boys went 4-2 down. Cloney turned provider for Doyle to finish for the third before Sean Kehoe rifled in the equaliser off the bar in injury time to end the 4-4.

Our Youth team traveled to newcomers Rosbercon where two goals from Darragh O'Flaherty were enough to take the 3 points.

KILMORE UNITED

Another busy weekend on the playing fields. Two u8 teams played against Albion; the first team unluckily went down by the odd goal in 3 with Brad Kooloff scoring the goal Jack Lambert scored for the 2nd u8 team who were well beaten but all had enjoyed it anyway.

Luke Jordan scored for the u12s who contributed to their own downfall when losing 6-1 to St Cormac's. The youths had no problem finding the net scoring 4 against Forth Celtic but unfortunatly lost Cody Gaddren, Chris Moore and Keith Bates in the goals.

The men were 3-1 behind against Taghmon going in to the last quarter but finished very strongly and ended up scoring 6 Paul Murphy hit 4 with Mark Doyle getting 2. Super sub Sean 'the ghost' Bates was instrumental in ensuring 4-4 draw for the reserves against Tombrack as he scored twice in injury time.

Finally congrats to all our under 12 girls who were involved in winning county football final on saturday and also to their new coach Trina Parrock who played a pivoted role for wexford in bringing home the camo gie all ireland cup.
