PLANNING officials have declined to allow permission for a new house on Matts Lane in Shelmalier Commons.
Concerns over the ability of the land in the area to absorb waste water were cited as the application from Helen Fanning was turned down.
The staff of Wexford County Council pointed out that there are already five dwellings beside the lane.
A senior scientist was called in to suggest that the area already has a high housing density.
As a result: 'both groundwaters and surface waters are experiencing problems,' wrote the scientist.
