PERSON OF THE YEAR

Congratulations to Evelyn Fortune, 4 Glentire Heights, The Ballagh on winning the overall South East Radio/Talbot Hotel 'Person of the Year' award last Friday. Evelyn was chosen from among the twelve monthly winners from March 2009-March 2010. She and her terrific band of helpers did massive fundraising to provide two monitor machines for St. Gabriel's Ward, Wexford Hospital. After Evelyn and John's beloved daughter, twoyear-old daughter Davina passed away, she found the strength to focus on this special fundraising campaign and to see it to completion. Incidentally, a plaque in Davina's memory has been erected in the children's ward where many other babies will benefit from the provision of the two monitors. The prize presented to Evelyn at the award ceremony included a trophy and a holiday voucher to the value of ¤1,500.
