LADIES SOCIAL CLUB

This Friday, 26th March is Daffodil Day in aid of the Irish Cancer Society, local I.C.A. members will be selling daffodils in O'Doherty's Supermarket and Broadway Post Office - please support this most deserving cause.
A Tractor/Vintage Run in Our Lady's Island on Sunday, 28th March, leaving the Community Centre at 12.30p.m. Marshals required – anyone interested in helping please contact 086 – 1086361 (Joe). All proceeds in aid of Scoil Mhuire, or local Primary School.
Congratulations to Niall and Peg Ellard, Airdownes, Our Lady's Island who celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on St. Patrick's eve at a Surprise Party given by their family and held in Carne Lobster Pot. Both Niall and Peg were joined by their family and friends.
John Murphy and Leo Power provided enjoyable traditional music for the party. They cut a special Anniversary Cake and it was a most enjoyable occasion. We wish this popular couple many more happy years together.
Wednesday next, 31st March is Community Coffee Morning time again, from 10.30 to 12 noon in the Community Hall. This is a great chance for neighbours and friends to meet in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Congratulations to Loreto Pierce, Sigginstown, Tacumshane who celebrated her birthday on St. Patrick's afternoon, and to Paddy Scallan, Highlands who celebrated his birthday on St. Patrick's Day also.
UNDERAGE GIRLS FOOTBALL
The Under 12 girls will start back training this Saturday 27th March 1011am in Ballymore GAA Grounds. All new members welcome from the ages of 8 upwards. Contact Antoinette on 087 9853094 if you need any more information.

St Fintans Adults played there first match last weekend in Ballymore and they were defeated by Gusserane 1-14 to 1-4 St Fintans.
SUCCESSFUL IRISH NIGHT
The Island Bar was packed on St. Patrick's night for the Irish Night when Brendan Wickham, Sean Carroll, Tom Hendrick, Pat Goff, and Raymond Tierney(whose late father was native of Carne), played most enjoyable traditional music which delighted the large attendance.
