OYLEGATE YOUTH CLUB
Best of luck to the under18 quiz team, the under15 table tennis and under15 chess team when they take part in the National Finals in Limerick on Saturday June 25th.
GLENBRIEN PARISH DRAW
Glenbrien parish draw for the month of June will be held on Sunday June 26th following 9.30am mass.
Well done to Katie-Anne Neville, Ballinaslaney, winner of a bronze medal in the under 14 Relay final at the county Community Games Athletic finals held in Craanford on Saturday last.
Sean Rowley, Oylegate, finished in fourth place in the heat of the 60M under 8 but outside of the medal placings in the final.
There was a great turnout for the first public viewing of our new Oylegate Community Centre last Wednesday evening. For those of you who couldn't make it, you'll have another chance to see inside the new building: after 6.30 p.m. Mass in Oylegate on Saturday 25th. June and after 10.30 a.m. Mass in Oylegate on Sunday 26th. June. Everyone is invited to come along.
There was no winner of the lotto jackpot of €7,200 held in Mernagh's Lounge, Oylegate on Wednesday June 8th. The four lucky dip winners were Eamon Doyle, David Skerritt, Jennie Hayes and Ita Doyle. The next draw will be held on Wednesday June 22nd in The Slaney Inn, Oylegate for a jackpot of €7,400. Tickets cost just €2 each available from club members.
Congratulations to the Rackard League who won the county final on Tuesday evening last in Wexford Park after defeating Crossabeg/Ballymurn. The winning score was 3-4 to 1-5 and well done to all concerned.
The parent's association would like to thank anyone who helped or supported the tea for the children after the first communion on Saturday last.
The school sports day will take place on Tuesday next the 21st in the school followed by a barbequeue for the children, any parents or guardians who are available to help are welcome to come along. The end of year mass.
The mass will take place in the school hall on Friday next 24th June at 11am followed by the Awards ceremony at 12.30pm all parents are welcome to attend both events.
The Green schools recycling campaign: As part of the green schools programme. A recycle bin for newspapers and magazines will be available for those who wish to avail of it outside the school gate from this week.
Story Telling Night: There will be a story telling session held in the school hall Wednesday next the 22nd June, at 8pm., everyone welcome , tea and refreshments will be served.
The Patron will take place on Sunday next June 26th here in the Parish, tea coffee and refreshments will be available in the new school after the service, anyone wishing to donate cakes buns or sandwiches, are asked to leave them into the school on Sunday morning from 12.
There will be an open public meeting of Glenbrien AA (Alcoholics anonymous) group on 2nd July in Glenbrien national school (Holy family school) with Al-anon participation. All are welcome. Refreshments served afterwards.
There will be a meeting on Wednesday the 22nd of June at 8pm in the school to establish the Scouts group. Scouting Ireland will be there to help us. If you are over 18 and can give an hour a week please come along and find out more. We need as many volunteers as possible to get the group up and running.

Green Flag Congratulations to the pupils and teachers of Oylegate N.S. who were awarded the coveted Green Flag at a special ceremony during the week. The Green Flag is awarded to schools tackling environmental issues such as litter and waste; recycling; energy and water conservation. Oylegate students and teachers are leading the way in facing up to the environmental challenges facing Ireland today.
Tesco Tokens: Oylegate N.S are collecting Tesco Tokens, if anyone would like to donate theirs to the school we would be very grateful.

Jack and Jill foundation: The pupils of Holy Family School are collecting phones for the Jack and Jill foundation and phones can be dropped into the school at any time.
