TAGHMON/ CAMROSS

CAMROSS DRAMA

The AGM of Camross Drama group will be held in Old School, Caroreigh on Wednesday 18th April at 8pm. All members are invited to attend and new members are always welcome.

CAMROSS ICA

The guild held its AGM in Camross Hall on Monday 2nd April with a large attendance present and the following were elected for 2012/2013, President, Marian Donnelly, Vice President and PRO, Breda Banville, Secretary, Breda Whelan, Minute Secretary, Margt O'gorman, Caro, Treasurer, Margt. Nolan, An Grianan Teachta, Peggy Doyle, Guest organiser, Dympna Kelly, Competitions for after meeting organiser, Maggie Morrissey, Purchaser of prizes, Alice Whitty.

Members will attend the ICA One day Craft School on Saturday 14th April in Colaiste Bride and some members will demonstrate knitting, crochet, flower arranging, patchwork and topiary in Enniscorthy Castle on Saturday 21st April from 2-4pm. Members are in training for the ICA Fun Run on Sunday 13th May and also the Ann Power memorial walk on Sunday 27th May.

ICA annual trip will take place on Monday 2nd July to the Cobh region. Colette Blake, Urodynamics Nurse, Wexford General Hospital, gave a most informative talk on 'Bladder Habits' and answered a wide variety of questions. Thanks to Alice Whitty and Alma Roche for providing sustenance on the evening and Peggy Doyle won the competition for the picture with the nicest summer/spring scene. Newt meeting arranged for Mon. 14th May.

KNITTING DEMO

Members of Camross ICA will demonstrate Knitting, Crochet, Patchwork, Topiary and Flower Arranging in Enniscorthy Castle on this Saturday 21st April from 24pm. Feel free to come along to the demonstrations and also see the 'Deeds not Words' exhibition which focuses on the famous women of Wexford ICA over the past century and their contribution to ICA in Wexford and nationally. This 'Living Museum' involves a large number of guilds in Wexford Federation where they demonstrate crafts etc in the Castle Drawing Room on Saturdays from 2-4pm and will continue until 15th June.

LADIES FOOTBALL

Taghmon/camross Ladies Football Well done to the Junior Ladies who got their league campaign off to a winning start last Good Friday. They took on Marshalstown where they battled hard and never gave up. The final scoreline was 2-6 to 2-5 in favor of Taghmon. Particular congratulations to those young ladies who made their debut at adult level. Their next game is in Taghmon against Bunclody on Tues 17th April. Best of luck.

COISTE NA NOG

The Under 12 footballers got there Div. 1 campaign off to a great start with a 5-8 - 311 win over St.martins in Piercestown on Tuesday evening last in a great game of football.there next game is against the Shelmaliers in Taghmon on Tuesday 17th at 7.30pm.

The under 8's have just competed in the finals of the hurling tournament in the indoor arena in Ballymitty. They went down 2 goals to Nil in their final game against Clongeen who scored 2 quick goals in the first half and despite Taghmon dominating possession in the second half, and numerous chances going narrowly wide they couldn't get the goals their play deserved. Played over 3 separate weekends the team improved with each game and are making great strides for the season ahead. A big well done to all the boys and girls who took part. Hurling training continues every Friday evening from 6 to 7pm. All newcomers welcome.

U14 Boys football result: Taghmon/ Camross 1-7 Volunteers 2-4 (div 2 championship) - The boys earned a well deserved draw in a closely fought game.

UNDERAGE SOCCER

Congratulations to the U11 Boys Soccer team who won the league recently. They recently played Bridge Rovers in the league and won by a scoreline of 2-1. Martin Roche scored a brilliant free kick which any Primiership player would be proud of. Not to be outdone Rian Redmond scored a screamer to the top corner of the net. The team still remain unbeaten this season well done to all the players.

Congratulations to the Taghmon Utd U12 boys who have won this seasons U12 Division 2 title. The team has won all its games so far this season - a fantastic achivement.

BADMINTON

Well done to Noel Dunne who won the Div. 5 Mens Singles. Noel/m.j. came runners up in the Men's Div. 5 Men's Dbls. Congratulations to Noel who has been selected to travel to Scotland on the U15 Leinster Team. The preliminary rounds of the Leinster Individuals will be held in Taghmon on the 22nd April commencing at 5 p.m.

MEN'S LEAGUE DIV. 6 - Taghmon declared the WINNERS, Team - James/ Declan Carroll, M.J. Dunne, Ryan Cogley. Well done chaps.

TEICNIC BADMINTON - Badminton Ireland's new skills based programme focussing on technical development is coming to Wexford. Teicnic has seven levels - basic white to advanced black. DATE:- Saturday 28th April. Venue is the Astra Active from 12 noon - 2 p.m. Cost is €5. Open to all - want to be coaches and those interested in improving their game.
