TAGHMON/ CAMROSS

CAMROSS DRAMA

Camross Drama group will perform in Wexford Arts Centre on this Thursday and Friday 18th and 19th October at 8pm.

The line up will be two One Act plays and a mini play: 'Billy the Member' written and directed by Des Waters with a cast of Pat O'Callaghan, Mike Banville and Martin Dunne, 'Last Tango in Little Grimley-Camross' written by David Tristram, directed by Ml. Stafford with a cast of Breda Breen, Gillian Dunlop Doyle, Philip Howlin and Val Whitty and 'The Last Straw' written and directed by Mary Brown with cast of Paddy O'Gorman.

CAMROSS HALL AGM

The AGM of Camross Hall Ltd was held on Thursday 11th October. Secretary, Breda Nolan read the annual report, Treasurer, Margt Nolan gave a very informative and detailed financial report and Chairperson, Ml. Doyle thanked all the committee for all their hard work during a busy year and ensuring that the 40th anniversary was a resounding success. A huge amount of refurbishment was carried out during the year, especially prior to the production of the Passion Play last Easter and it is hoped to see further refurbishment continued in 2013.

Fr. David Murphy presided over the election of officers and are as follows, Chairperson, Ml. Doyle, Vice Chairperson, Laurence Banville, Secretary, Breda Nolan, Treasurer, Margt Nolan, Ass. Treasurer, Margt O'Gorman, Caro, PRO, Breda Banville, ANNCR Reps, Ann O'Gorman and Robert Nolan. Committee, all the above plus Fr. David Murphy, Eddie Colfer, Brendan Doyle, Peggy Doyle, Billy Nolan, Eamonn O'Gorman and Dympna Kelly.

The Hallow'een dance will be held on Friday 2nd November from 10pm to 12mn with music by El Paso, adm €8 inc. Tea. Christmas Wonderland and Bazaar will be held on Sunday 2nd December and it is rumoured that Rudolph will touch down early in November. Watch this space.

WELLNESS EVENING

A Wellness evening, hosted by Wexford Federation of ICA will be held in the Stanville Lodge Hotel on Tuesday 23rd October at 8pm. Speakers on the evening will include, Linda Thorpe, Mental Health Ireland, Denis O'Connor, Console Wexford, Bernie Sheridan, a taste of Twin Hat Meditation, Fran Ronan of Sports Active Wexford and Maeve O'Herlihy, ICA councellor.

There will be information tables with info on MABS, ICA, Sports Active, Console and Health and Well Being. This is a FREE Evening, all are welcome, FREE entry, FREE raffle, FREE tea and biscuits and all will receive a GOODIE bag and its thanks to various ICA guilds in Wexford on hosting Tea and Chat days.

ICA HISTORY BOOK

A history book, '102 years of Wexford ICA', which was launched at the ploughing championships is now on sale. This book, written by ICA guilds, past and present, across Wexford was compiled by Mary Somers, and copies are being snapped up rapidly. LADIES FOOTBALL

Taghmon/Camross Ladies Football are playing in the Junior A Shield Final v HWH Bunclody on Sunday next 21st October at 11am in St. Patrick's Park. Please support the girls.

The Taghmon/Camross LGFC are holding a 'Ladies Night' in Stanville Lodge on Thursday 8th November which includes Fashions, Haircare, Beauty, etc starting at 7.30pm with Cheese & Wine Reception book your tickets from any committee member.

CASTLE VINTAGE CLUB

Thank you to all the local vintage clubs for supporting last Sunday's tractor run and our main sponsors Jacksies Bar, also Mag and Eric Fenlon and the ladies for the lovely food.

BADMINTON

Clodagh Dunne made a clean sweep at the All-England Gold U13's event held in Lisburn. Clodagh is definitely winning matches as she took the Singles, Doubles, Mixed Gold medals. Edward Cousins had a great day at the Irish Future Series, where he won the Mixed Doubles Title with Keelin Fox. Edward has also been selected to represent Leinster at the English Inter Counties competition due to be held in November.

The October B Leinster Close was held on Saturday - Ryan Cogley/Brandon Cogley won the U15 Boys Doubles. Ryan Cogley took the runners up Title in the U15 Boys Singles. Brandon Cogley won the U15 Boys Singles Plate event. Well done boys.

The knockout event was held last weekend - well done to our Division 4 Team who came runners up, Team - Noel Dunne, John Walsh, Helen Butler, Clodagh McDonald. The Division 3 Team took the runners up spot also, Team - John Walsh, Noel Dunne, Clodagh Dunne, Marie Kelly. Nicholas Murphy played on the Shelbourne Division 1 winning Team. Well done to all great start to the season.

TAGHMON NS

The AGM forTaghmon Parents Council was held on Tuesday the 11th of September and the following were elected Chairperson Paula Williams, Assistant Chairperson Berta Murphy, Secretary Kay O'Brien, Assistant Secretary Sharon Carroll, Treasurer Frances Roche, Assistant Treasurer Maura Whitaker and PRO Edel Doyle.

The Taghmon Parents Council would like to welcome all new children and parents to there school we hope it will be an enjoyable experience for all.

Saftey: The parents council and the saftey committee would like to remind all parents of the saftey measures around the school. Parking is not permitted on or near the lights or on a single line these should always be left clear so children and traffic have clear visiblity of the road, alsoplease refrain from parking in the bus stop. Reverse Parking was suggested as it is easier to see our pupils walking while leaving the school. Our chilren's saftey is our main priorty and we would appericate all parents co-operation.

Halloween Walk: We will be having our annual Halloween walk on 26th October at 1pm We would like to encourage all parents who can to come along and join in the fun.

Unclaimed items: Please can parents label school jumpers and jackets as there are a numerous amount of unclaimed items left in the school. If anyone has mislaid there jumper or jacket please see Charlie in school.

COISTE NA NOG

The club would like to wish both Jack Murphy and Mark Doyle all the best in the World Handball Championships. The tournament is continuing in the Citywest Hotel in Dublin until Saturday 20th October. Good luck to the boys.

UNDERAGE SOCCER

U9 training commenced on Monday from 5.30 to 6.30pm inside in the Community Centre. Cost is ¤2 per child per session. Lady mentors are urgently required if the club are to be in a position to facilitate u9 girls on the night. Please contact Chairman Podge Hore if you would like to get involved 0857672062.

A great weekend for the underage girls side of the club beating Curracloe and North End in a 2 hour period in Horetown. First up were our U10s who beat Curracloes B team with a great goal from Chloe Doyle. The U12s started their league campaign with a 3-0 win over North End. Emma Clarke, Emma Kelly and Laura Butler were the goalscorers on a day. The girls did not perform to their potential but still managed to get all the points on this occassion.

The U11 boys were idle but played a friendly v Glynn away. All the boys put in a good performance and they played some good soccer during the game. Cathal Murphy, Ryan Cashin & Capt Kyle Barnwell all scored two each and ran out 6-2 winners.

CAMOGIE COFFEE

Taghmon Camogie Club will be holding a coffee morning on Friday 26th October in Taghmon. Your help and support would be greatly appreciated to raise funds for the club

ATHLETICS CLUB

Taghmon Athletics club would like to thank the following coaches for their time commitment and dedication to the club. With the assistance and part funding from Sport Active Wexford our coaches were able to further their skills and knowledge base by undertaking and completing the following courses. Mervin O'Toole Assistant coaching course, Sara Doran and Clodagh McGrath on completing their Leader course and Oliver Kelly undertaking the level 1 course. Without the help from Sports Active Wexford our club would not be growing and expanding as it is.

FAMILY RESOURCE CENTRE

MEN'S SHED OPENING: A very big thank you to all those who attended at the opening of our Men's Shed on Saturday and a special thanks to Mr. Billy Walsh for performing the official opening. A great day was had by all

MONDAY MORNING LADIES CRAFT GROUP: with Bridget Kennedy this is from 10.30am to 12.30pm. All ladies are welcome to attend.

MEN'S BREAKFAST MORNING: this continues on Friday mornings from 9.30 am til 12 noon. New male members are always welcome.

COOKERY FOR MEN: this has started on Monday evenings from 7.15pm to 8.45pm and there are still some places available. This class is for men who would like to learn some basic cookery skills. Please contact the Centre or come along on Monday evening.

COUNSELLING: if you would like to make an appointment please call Trish on 087 7719984. This service operates on a voluntary basis and we ask for a €5 donation per session.

WEDNESDAY'S WOMENS GROUP: this group is for women of all ages who are interested in positive well-being. If you would like any further information please contact the Centre or come along on Wednesday at 10.30am. Cost is €5 per week.

COMPUTER TRAINING: Beginners Internet and Email.... spaces are still available for the free 4 week course. Please contact the Centre to book your place.

WOODCARVING FOR MEN'S SHED: this class has started and will take place in the Men's Shed on Wednesday afternoons. There are still some places available. Contact Ray at the Centre for further information.
