Tractor run raised funds for hospice
A tractor run organised by the Castle Vintage Club in Taghmon raised some €5,000 in aid of Hospice Home Care in Wexford.
The vintage tractor round trip travelled over four days from Taghmon, Gorey, Arklow and the Meeting of the Waters in Co. Wicklow. Some 40 people, 25 tractors and 15 collectors took part in the charity drive and communities in the towns along the route cheered them on.
Pat Monaghan, Chairman of the Taghmon Club said there would be a presentation of the cheque to Hospice Home Care next month.
'Everything went very well and thanks to everyone involved who paid their own accomodation and food along the route,' he said.
