€250 fine

A TAGHMON motorist, who had a clean driving licence for the past 28 years, was fined €250 at New Ross District Court last Tuesday for driving without reasonable consideration.

Philip Carty (47) from Adgrove, Caroreigh, Taghmon, was charged with the offence on December 4, 2009 at Raheen, Glenmore, following a collision.

His defence solicitor Eric Furlong explained that the collision occurred on the New Ross to Waterford road when his client pulled out in front of another car.

'He has a totally clean driving licence,' said Mr. Furlong.
