38-year-old man killed in crash near Campile

A motorcyclist has been killed in a two vehicle crash near Campile.

The accident happened at 11pm on Saturday night on the L4036 road near Campile.

A 38-year-old man was fatally injured when his motorcycle collided with a car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has since been removed to University Hospital Waterford for a post mortem examination. The local coroner has been notified.

The driver of the car, a 25-year-old man, was uninjured in the crash.

The road is currently closed pending an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators this morning and local diversions are in place.
