60th birthday bash for twins Rose and John

A great crowd turned out to Harney's Lounge in Ballyedmond recently to see Rose Walsh and her twin brother John blowing out the candles on their 60th birthday cake.

Rose, from Clonard, and John, from Crossabeg, were delighted to be joined by friends and family from all over as over 80 people turned up on the night to wish them well.

John was joined by his six children on the night, and Rose was also joined by her two children, John and Shirley, who organised the party. 'I'd just like to thank my daughter Shirley for what was an absolutely brilliant night,' said Rose. 'We had music from Tony Davitt from Ferns, who kept the party going, and it was great to see everyone. People even travelled from as far as Limerick and Cork to be there which was really nice.'

Rose didn't have too much time to recover from the party, as on Friday she set off for New York with daughter Shirley for a special birthday trip. 'She's been so good to me,' said Rose. 'She got me the trip to New York as a special birthday present and I'm really excited as I've never been before.'

The pair were looking forward to spending some mother-daughter time in 'the Big Apple' and browsing some of the world renowned stores New York has to offer on what has been a wonderful week for Rose.
