Rosslare Harbour RNLI held their very first 16K coastal walk/run fundraiser in which more than 100 people took part to help raise funds for the lifeboat charity.

Chairperson of Rosslare Harbour RNLI fundraising committee Trish Kavanagh said the walk raised just under €1,500 and organisers plan to make the event an annual fund raiser.

The fundraiser started at Rosslare Harbour, and continued up to Carne beach and then back to the start where refreshments were at hand.

'A lot of runners from clubs and families attended. I just want to thank everyone for there help and those who sponsored the water and fruit for us on the day. It was a great success,' said Trish.
