On Thursday (December 10), Wexford Women's Refuge will take part in the National Balloon Action campaign to show solidarity with women who experience domestic violence.

The group will take to the Bullring at 12 p.m. for the event, which aims to mark the 16 Days of Action Opposing Violence against Women Campaign. Their efforts will be mirrored at similar events nationwide.

Organiser also hope to highlight the work of Wexford Women's Refuge and raise awareness of the statistics on women experiencing domestic violence. At present, one in five women in Ireland are victims of domestic abuse.

The day has been organised to coincide with International Human Rights Day. All are welcome to attend and there will be music provided by local musicians.
