A hair-raising hunt in eerie Duckett's Grove

The spooky season may be forgotten by many until next year, but the team at Wexford Paranormal don't need an excuse for a good scare.
Five members of the team recently brought two volunteers and 30 members of the public to Duckett's Grove in Carlow where they took part in a charity ghost hunt. Despite the horrendous weather, the brave souls spent a total of six hours searching for paranormal activity within the ruin and grounds.
'Some of the teams came across some interesting stuff that caused a bit of excitement. Actually seeing something as such would be a rarity, though we do live in hope,' said Michael Carroll, Lead Investigator with Wexford Paranormal. 'Duckett's Grove is an unusual place to put it mildly and we're really just scratching the surface.'
The location has long been associated with ghosts, spectres and claims of paranormal activity. Duckett's Grove has also featured in a number of TV shows, one of which focused on a search for the elusive Banshee.
Over the course of the night, the participants divided into three small groups to target specific parts of Duckett's Grove using a range of investigation equipment. The groups rotated positions as the night went on, in the hope that they would catch a ghostly sighting.
The charity ghosthunt raised a total of €1050 for St Clare's Hospitality and proved to be a great end to a busy 2015 for Wexford Paranormal. The group hope to continue their volunteer investigations in 2016. Since 2010, they have been actively investigating reported claims of paranormal activity and providing free support to those who may be experiencing paranormal activity.
