Two people had a lotto lotto luck during their holiday weekend in Rosslare when they won a jackpot of €2,501,742.

The duo who collected their jackpot on Tuesday last at National Lottery headquarters said they were enjoying a summer weekend in Rosslare when they purchased the winning €4 Quick Pick ticket in Murphy's SuperValu in Rosslare Harbour.

The small syndicate, who do not wish their win to be a public one, said they were thrilled with their winnings.

'We're over the moon. Can't believe our luck! We have lots of friends and family and we're looking forward to making their lives a whole lot easier. Once that's done, we might even spend a bit on ourselves', they chuckled.

'We're going to travel more with this win, and we're heading to France, Germany and Europe later on this year. We're also really fond of Rosslare, so we might consider buying a mobile home there for more great Lotto winning weekends.'

'I've always been a great believer in the Sacred Heart and my faith has come through for me today', said a member of the syndicate. They both said they were 'going to make plenty of private donations to charities from this win'.
