Oulart boxer Adam Nolan will pick up a sportstar award this Friday.

Adam is one of this year's winners of the Coiste Siamsa St Raphael's Garda Credit Union Sportstar awards. The awards are presented to Garda members who have achieved success in their chosen sports, locally, nationally and internationally. This year's selection committee was chaired by former Munster and Ireland rugby player Alan Quinlan.

Adam is a member of the Irish Elite Boxing Squad. He was National welterweight boxing champion for 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014, and boxes for Bray Boxing Club.

The Bray-based guard represented Ireland at the London Olympics in 2012. In March 2015, Nolan went to the Gee Bee Multi Nations tournament in Finland. He won all three of his bouts to claim the Gold medal for Ireland and the Boxer of the tournament award.

In October he represented Ireland at the World Elite Boxing Championships.
