Clonard resident Carol Fox put the kettle on for a large crowd at her recent coffee morning which raised a total of €2,100 for Wexford Hospice Homecare.

Carol joined with the Clonard Ladies, Fr Larkin and Fr Lennon to hand over a cheque to Elizabeth O'Sullivan, treasurer of Wexford Hospice Homecare committee recently. In light of another successful event, Carol thanked all of those who supported, donated and helped out.

'We would like to say a great big thank you to everyone who supported our coffee morning. It was an amazing turn out,' said Carol.

'And finally a great big thank you once again to the Clonard Ladies who donated their time and support and whose individual characters make it such a fun and successful event every year.'

The event is the sixth to be organised by Carol and this year's total surpassed all other years. Her tradition began soon after Carol was made redundant. On hearing about the Ireland's Biggest Coffee Morning initiative, she decided that it would be the perfect opportunity to meet her neighbours and organised an event at home. Over time, the gathering became so large that it must be held elsewhere.
