A Wexford woman has complained to a local councillor over the state of the cobbles on Wexford Quayfront after her daughter was injured after tripping over some badly-raised slabs.

Caroline O'Leary said she was enjoying the sunshine on the Quays when her daughter Grace tripped, turning what had been a lovely sit down 'into hysterical tears'.

In her complaint asking Cllr George Lawlor to get something done about the problem, which has previously been raised with the council, Caroline says: 'She is a tough kid and would normally just pick herself up, but she hit the ground hard.

'Can anything be done about this?

'If that was an elderly person it wouldn't be so good.'
