ROSSLARE lifeboat was called out late on Wednesday night after one of the boats supporting marathon swimmer Steve Redmond got into trouble several miles off the Wexford shoreline.
An RNLI spokesman said the support boat caught up in a line of lobster pots.
'We threw them a line and got back to Rosslare at 6.10 a.m. on Thursday,' he said.
Mr. Redmond quit his record-breaking attempt to swim from Carnsore Point to St. David's in Wales shortly afterwards.
