Works will be undertaken on Ballydicken Lane after a recent diversion left the lane in bad nick.

Cllr Jim Moore said the road had been used as a diversion recently and was now in a dreadful state.

Engineer Craig Innes said Ballyhamon Lane had 'also received a thumping'. He said that temporary works had been carried out and he was hoping to secure a pre-spend from the storm damage funds of €65,000 to strengthen the Killurin Road.

In response to a concern from Cllr Moore about the safety of Killurin Bridge Mr Innes reassured the members it was safe. He said that there had been a full structural assessment on the bridge a few years ago and it is structurally sound and capable of carrying Heavy Goods Vehicles.

However there is a problem with the parapets and 'there will have to be a programme put in place to bring these to standard'.
