WEXFORD County Council's 'beach wheelchair' programme was extended to Rosslare on Tuesday.

Two weeks ago, the council's first 'beach wheelchair' was successfully introduced at Curracloe Beach with the support of the local well-known Curracloe Surf Shack.

Since then the council announced the extension of the programme to Rosslare, with the support of Rosslare Community Development Association. The formal launch of the facility was officiated by Mayor of Wexford, Cllr Ger Carthy. The 'beach wheelchairs' can be booked free of charge for use by disabled persons.
