THE AUTHOR of the famous 'Ben 10' books, Barry Hutchinson aka Andy Baxter has been giving children in Wexford's Educate Together school a special preview of his latest writing.

Scotsman Barry re-located to Wexford last summer to enrol his six years old son in the fledgling new school and ended up becoming one of its founders.

'He moved here especially so that his son could come to the school. He was very interested in the ethos of Educate Together. They don't have anything like it in Scotland', said principal, Maria Redmond.

The Ben Ten stories follow the adventures of a boy who meets an alien and gets ten powers which turn him into a youthful superhero.

The creation is a huge craze among younger children and has spawned a television cartoon series, a range of toys and merchandise which are the musthave Santa presents this Christmas.

Children in Educate Together have enjoyed the special privIlege of hearing the author read the manuscript of his new book, 'Night of the Living Ted' to them over the past few weeks.

Barry even hopes to dedicate the book, to be published by Harper Collins, to the Wexford children who enjoyed it so much.

The Hutchinsons are returning to Scotland for an extended stay due to family circumstances but hope to return as soon as possible.

Barry is planning to do writing workshops with children in the Educate Together school during 2009.
