Praise was lavished on a recent fundraiser for Wexford General Hospital.
More than €21,000 was raised recently at the hospital ball which was organised by Friends of Wexford General Hospital with hospital management Lily Byrnes, Professor Colm Quigley and a number of Wexford General Hospital staff members.
The money will be used to help fund the purchase of MRI machine. Currently over 4,000 MRI scans being performed outside of Wexford each year and highlighting the need to have one in situ in the hospital as soon as possible.
At last Monday's meeting of Wexford Borough District Cllr Anthony Kelly said it had been a fantastic effort by the fundraising committee adding that it was very heartening to see such a large sum of money being raised.
