A bigger and better ceremony should be undertaken this year to mark the anniversary of the Lock Out.
Cllr Davy Hynes said that he felt that because of the significance of 1916 and this being the centenary of James Connolly's death that the council should organise more than a simple wreath laying at the Lock Out gates.
'It could be done as part of the 1916 celebrations', he said.
