Wexford Hospice Homecare received a cheque for €4,300 from a popular coffee morning in Boggans shop that has become an important fixture in many local people's diaries.

Joan Boggan was inspired by her own family's experience of Wexford Hospice during her late husband Hugh's illness. Following Hugh's death in October 2013, the Boggan family decided to do something to thank the group.

'We have our coffee morning at the Tea Room at the end of our shop. It is very well supported by everyone and all the locals look forward to it,' said Diane Cullen of Boggan Shop.

In conjunction with the coffee morning Joan also runs a raffle that local businesses and shop supplier sponsor and support.

'The sponsors are brilliant to us, all the local shops and businesses come together to help us. Also shop suppliers do too, like Cadbury,' said Diane.

The Boggan family have raised nearly €15,000 altogether for Wexford Hospice Homecare with the annual event.
