Boy (15) arrested on foot of warrant to stand trial for dangerous driving
A 15-YEAR-OLD boy from South Wexford facing serious motoring related charges, among others, appeared in Gorey District Court last week on foot of a bench warrant.
The teen, who can't be named for legal reasons, had no reason for not appearing in court previously.
He is charged with dangerous driving; driving without insurance or a licence; taking a car without authority; fraudulent use of a number plate; and driving off without paying for petrol; at Adamstown on June 15 last.
He's also charged with breaking three windows at Kilmore Garda Station, and breaking the front and rear windscreens; the right side windows; the rear brake light; damaging the pillar between the driver's door and the rear door; and damage to the body work of a car belonging to a Garda Sergeant, at Kilmore Quay on May 16 last.
The youth was remanded on bail, to appear in court again on July 12, on strict conditions he live at his given address; observe a curfew from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. daily; and not interfere with any witnesses; and he must stay out of Adamstown. He must also not associate with the members of a named family from Wexford; and be of good behaviour and sober habits. He also has to sign on daily at his local Garda Station between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
' The Gardai have enormous concerns about your activities,' said Judge O Buachalla.
