Labour's Brendan Howlin has been elected after the ninth count in Wexford.

Howlin polled a total vote of 12,071 putting him above the quota of 11,944.

Mayor Ger Carthy was also eliminated on that count with a vote of 4,041.

 

The votes for the rest of the candidates are as follows:

James Browne 11,699

Malcolm Byrne 6,950

Michael D'Arcy 8,574

Paul Kehoe 8,522

Johnny Mythen 8,350

Mick Wallace 10,625

 

The quota is 11,944
