Wexford Lions Club generously donated €2,000 to St Brigid's Day Care Centre who are in need of a new engine for their bus which they use on a daily basis.

St Brigid's Centre have been operating for the past 50 years, where they collect elderly people from their homes to bring them to the centre and they can take part in different activities.

Nurses are available to change dressings, there is a physiotherapist, hairdressers, and also social activities like quizzes or bingo.

Sean Kinsella from St Brigid's said: 'We need these services in the community for as long as possible. People want to live in their own home for as long as they can and don't want to end up in a home.'

Sean said the services are vital to people living longer as they still have their own independence, he thanked the Wexford Lions Club for their substantial amount they donated.
