A WEXFORD man found in possession of two grammes of cocaine said he reckoned a friend gave to him at his stag party.
Wayne Hunt (41), 26a Ferndale Park, was found to have an estimated €140 in cocaine when Gardaí searched a premises at Ferndale on August 28, 2009. The drugs were for his own use.
Tim Cummings, for Hunt, said his client had a long history of involvement with drugs, but has been drug-free since 2007. 'He was at his own stag party and very drunk and someone must have given it to him. He hadn't used it and had no intention of using it,' said Mr Cummings. He also pointed out that the search warrant was actually issued in respect of another occupant of the house.
Judge Donnchadh O Buachalla adjourned the case for 12 months to see if Hunt behaves himself in the meantime.
