Celebrity chef to speak at start-up information night
VIPs including celebrity chef Kevin Dundon will speak at a start-up evening for local businesses in the Sky and the Ground pub on Wexford's South Main Street tomorrow (Wednesday, September 30).
The event is part of the AIB Start-Up Academy which is an initiative to support entrepreneurs across Ireland.
A series of Start-up Nights are taking place across the country, drawing together a mix of entrepreneurs, mentors, and investors. These events are for start-ups and entrepreneurs from all backgrounds and at all stages, including those who are considering starting up a new venture for the first time.
Successful and experienced entrepreneurs will be on hand at each event to share their stories and experiences and to network with attendees.
The next start-up evening in The Sky and the Ground Bar in Wexford on Wednesday gets underway at 6.30 p.m. Entrepreneurs looking to invest, and start-up companies looking for investment, can register to attend for free at http://www.irishtimes.com/business/aib-start-up-academy
Speakers at the Wexford start-up night will include Kevin Dundon, celebrity chef and owner of Dunbrody Country House Hotel, and Michael Kelly, founder of Grow It Yourself, a global network of people who grow their own food.
Kevin and Michael will be joined on the night by Karen and Natalie Keane of Bean & Goose and Christine Meehan of Wexford's Natural Health Store who will be pitching their respective businesses to the audience.
Applications are also now being accepted for the AIB Start-Up Academy programme, which will begin in early 2016. The intense training programme will see 11 finalists mentored and coached by AIB, The Irish Times and a panel of business experts before going on to compete for a grand prize valued at over €250,000, which includes a €20,000 cash investment for the overall winner and an advertising and mentorship package for each runner-up.
