Chelsea garden designer commends Wexford council

a Wexford garden designer who won a Gold for her Celtic Sanctuary garden at the Chelsea Flower Show has commended the county council for its role in the development of community gardens and spaces.

Mary Reynolds was speaking at a gathering at the council headquarters of tidy towns organisations, community volunteers, gardeners and environmentalists for the launch of a new booklet and competition for community gardens, parks and community spaces.

Mary, who won her Chelsea gold in 2002 and who was an adjudicator on the RTE series Super Garden, gave an invigorating and inspiring presentation and commended the council for its role in supporting, empowering and assisting communities grow their community green spaces.

The booklet and competition was launched by Cllr. Malcolm Byrne, Chairperson of Wexford County Council. For copies of the booklet, and competition details, contact The Access Office, Wexford County Council, Carricklawn, Wexford.

Closing date for receipt of entries for the competition is Friday, July 31.
