Seventeen girl guides were left in good spirits when they were presented with badges in Piercestown Scout Hall.

The badges were presented as part of the Spirit of Brigin Day, which was established in honour of Anna Mahon, a former member of Clonard Girl Guides who passed away two years ago.

This is the second year that the group have celebrated the day, which sees a range of activities being held for the children involved.

Kate Whelan was the winner of the Spirit of Brigin badge design competition and it was her badge that was presented to all in attendance on the day. According to Anne Curtis, leader of the Clonard Girl Guides, the day was greatly enjoyed by who attended.
